Will this help with finding cell signals for pointing a parabolic antenna?

Hi Stuart! I just purchased this meter after finding your excellent video review. One question .... when doing an ATSC Channel Scan is sometimes see the word "Pad" at the top of the display where "Amp" sometimes appears. I can't find any mention of "Pad" in the instruction booklet. Do you know what it means? Thanks!

Jim it's great to hear from you again! PAD shows up when the internal 10dB pad is active. The numbers on the screen are still accurate, but internally the meter is compensating for what it thinks are very strong signals.

@@SolidSignalNovi Thanks, Stuart. So it's essentially the opposite of "Amp". I'm surprised they don't mention that in the user manual. Makes perfect sense, though. This is a great little meter. It will come in real handy when aiming my off-air antenna while camping with our trailer.

For most people, setting up sn antenna is a one time event. It would be hard to justify the cost of this unit under those circumstances. If you can afford this you probably aren't to concern about your cable costs in the first place.

Does it work with Australia Frequency?
@SolidSignalNovi3 жыл бұрын
It will work with 50-600MHz but will only tune US NTSC and ATSC broadcasts.

Australia uses the DVB-T digital TV standard.

What about a signal meter for ATSC 3.0?
@SolidSignalNovi3 жыл бұрын
There is one out on the market, it's about 10x the price. Better to wait on that and tune using the ATSC 1 channel.

396.00 Isn't "reasonably priced" unless you're an installer or something, that or rich.
