Dobbs is a good guy. Well liked by players and coaches. If Brock goes down he can handle it. As a veteran he can help Brock too. He filled in as the starter when Murray was hurt in Arizona and won a couple games in Minnesota also.

Even in his rookie season, Brock was a good QB sneaker. But after he got hurt Kyle shut that shit down and didn’t do it again until the divisional round of the playoffs.

What I find especially weird about the schedule is that the 49ers will have a bye in week 9 for the third straight season. The 49ers haven't really been great in the weeks before that, the last time they won a game in week 7 for example was in 2020 against the Patriots with Cam Newton in Jimmie's penultimate game of that season. In fact, the 49ers have a record of 6-11 (+3 bye weeks) through weeks 5 to 9 since 2020. That's probably not just a random stat but a reflection of how the 49ers work and prepare throughout a season. What's helpful for the Niners is that they'll play opponents at the end of the year who had their bye week early, the rematch with the Rams, the games against the Dolphins and the Lions.

Guy. You need to conduct an analysis of variance for rest differential across all teams based on prior year record. It’s entirely possible that the NFL is consciously baking this in to drive more competitive games. This can be conducted through an ANOVA to determine statistical significance of negative rest differential correlating to projected team strength. You can do this comparing two groups. Winners and losers. Just do five winning teams from the prior four years And determine each teams rest differential. Do the same for the bottom five teams and test for significant difference.

Doesn’t matter. The Niners have lost more playoff games than any team in NFL history. They always fall short unless Walsh or Seifert are coaching. And they are about to join the Vikings and Broncos with 4 consecutive Super Bowl losses. They are bad for the Collective Soul of The Bay Area.

@@teem2395 I have been a fan since the late 60’s. Loved John Brodie and Gene Washington. Obviously Eddie, Bill, Joe and Ronnie was Camelot. You are correct, i sound entitled and ungrateful. However in fairness, no fan base has been so close so often and come up short so much, since 94/95. They have lost the benefit of the doubt. I look at them as snake oil salesman. I don’t believe a fn thing they are selling anymore. Please know I respect your loyalty. I just can’t do it anymore.

Thursday games are crappy, get rid of them. There should be no rest differentials, all teams should have the same bye week and same rest every week. I’m fine with strength of schedule being hardest for the top teams, but then th e Chiefs should have the hardest schedule. Agree with whoever said JD opinions suck. Not sure where he gets his nfl stats, but everything I’ve heard about rest differential is that it’s a distinct advantage. There’s so much parody in the nfl, that any “small” advantage is a big advantage.

@@jflowers090 Good point. I just think “almost reaching” the summit of Everest so “so many times” to come up just short, is more painful than having a sucky team and knowing the season is over. Falling from Everest to a hard marble floor like fine china, leaves your heart in microscopic shards. At some point, you realize there is no putting it back together.
