Some may differ with Tun Mahathir on a number of issues but the Tun has constantly been right on one thing : Unity of the Ummah must be built on adherence to the Holy Qur'an and its prestine teachings. May Allah SWT bless him for upholding this fundamental truth, aameen ! I am a Christian but I totally agree with Dr MM's assessment that the Muslim world needs just one America like developed rich and powerful state to tip the global balance of power. The best candidate for this would be a union between Arab states namely Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Sudan, and all countries of the Arabian Peninsula including UAE, Yemen and Oman as an Islamic super state with 200 million plus population, oil surplus, and geostrategic positions along the Suez Canal and Persian Gulf, with Arabic as the common language it is easy to integrate as there is no language barrier.
