A very good interview by Akin Atoki. He is a very good singer/composer by every standard and his first album with the Honey Makers Band is one of the very best around that time. It reinvokes the better days of Inter-Reformers. I wish I could get the album again . I'm however aware of the incidents that lead to the final disbandment of the band, and which Oga Akin technically but understandably avoided in this interview. It revolved around some legal technicalities on Obey's name vis-a-viz the activities of the band. I happy to see him and I want to wish him more success. On a different note, Akin Atoki looks so much like Obey when he was younger. Ditto with the late Guinea Ade and Olu Fajemirokun. Akin Atoki should remember this from the album: " Eni to dure, e ku iduro, Eni to joko , e ku ijoko oooo, Edumare a wole deyin ooo, Eni eleni o ni gbase eyin se....."

This man is very truthful. Taye Ejire orila, always talk and asked questions about royalty payments and soon on, but what he refused to understand is that all these band members live good and make money than any salary earners, many of them from the big bands like Chief Ebenezer Obey and KSA, have their own houses, Luxury cars and beautiful family because of the regular money they made during their time with these bands. The band's boys are employees and they stay with the band at pleasure of their boss .

can't wait for them to interview Broda David too but it seems he's not based in Nigeria presently. he used to come to our house back then to visit broda Segah the Ghanaian keyboardist back then. i wish Bode Akiwowo is still alive too it would be nice to hear from him, his bass voice is the best i ever heard, he was just too good.

Please why didn’t you ask the guest how much commander paid the members when he disbanded the band? No, you wouldn’t, because it’s not KSA
@adisashaffi26602 жыл бұрын
My question is when chief commander Ebenezer Obey disbanded his band in 1993, does he gives thiese guys some money for these guys getting their choices of business so that they can in good control of their finances?? But it it's not, i will say Ebenezer Obey doesn't have fearless of God and he will not see as a honest evangelist.
