Mayo said his coaching position is about relationships with the Krafts like their other businesses. That is the problem. It should be about what happens on the field not about the Kraft relationship.

Experience is built through adversity. Bill Belichick went 5-11 his 1st season, and this was after a previous stint as head coach which went terribly. Next year will be a major test for Mayo to see if he overcomes this adversity or he is not a head coach in this league. At least give the man a real chance.

People are going to want to come here! You have a bunch of well liked players coaches, and a STUD at QB! Give these guy 1 more year! If it’s like this next year, then start making decisions, but this team has been bad now for 4-5 years! Bill never bothered to rebuild the offense! The best offensive weapon we hd here since Gronk, Meyers, Bill just let him walk, and then signed JuJu for more money? I can sympathize with Mayo and acknowledge that no one would be taking this roster to the playoffs. At the same time, his in-game decisions are almost always questionable and overly conservative and the defense (which should be where he spends most of his time) has regressed from very good to freakin awful. If you acknowledge that most of Maye's development is either his own natural talent or some combination of AVP, McAdoo and McCartney - what exactly has Mayo done well this year? What's the affirmative case to bring him back other than just saying it's year 1?

@@jackthequarterback i don’t think Mayo is the problem but I don’t see him as the solution either. If anything, there’s some questions in the game management department. Mayo’s choice to kick a 68 yard field goal for a game winner epitomizes his 1st year as a HC. Mayo defenders will polish off his sack, wipe their face, and demand he gets another year. Meanwhile his defensive expertise has lead the defense to being a bottom 1/3rd DVOA compared to 1 year ago as a top 10 DVOA with the same roster. Blame the talent!! Not the first year head coach… who also happened to believe the deficiencies of the O-line were completely overblown, 13 weeks later they have the worst group in the league. Mayo defenders keep sucking and massaging, it’s all about the juicy draft picks anyways, right? Besides it’s all Bill’s fault.

start over.. meaning you fire dc and oc and every one else.. no stakeholders on the roster or tactics or strategies.. quickest path to being a loser franchise like carolina.. let shit play out.. they love their coach, they play for him..

Why can’t we give him the same benefit of the doubt that we give Drake Maye when he throws a game losing interception. They’re both rookies.

I'm pulling for him, but I am increasingly bothered by the corporate HR department word salad. He's a walking version of a 2002 book on business leadership that was plucked from the discount rack.

They have no talent on both sides of the ball and won't win this year or for a few years. That simple. At least they have their franchise QB. I say three years from now and they will be a contender.

The only player that is progressing is Maye and I think that has zero to do with Mayo. Defence has totally regressed.

Wasting Drake Mayes rookie season with Mayo as Coach. Drake should've started from the get go and Mayo should've stopped coaching scared football and maybe we'd be a playoff contender or at least Maye could be in Rookie of the Year race.

Pretty sure bill was around 3 years ago when there was podcast . There’s truly no reason to defend this dude . He’s a first timer and doing all these shows like what for ? Focus on winning games first simple as that
