Now it is only right and fair before God to have C.R. & Missy on your show to share. There is not only 'just' Catherine's side to this. There is almost always the part on the female side in the way one talks, dresses, and looks(with the eyes) has alot to do with swaying the man...the other small percentage is that it is initiated by the man no doubt(MAYBE) this was the case with C.R. However, what is heard about 'just' the 'touching' and kissing...she allowed 'that' to continue...she 'did not have to 'allow' those 2 things to continue. She could have gone to someone to share to get this nipped right at the beginning.
@EBGageАй бұрын
Even though Catherine says she did not 'mean' any 'ill will' when she opened up to the reporter...she should be able to see how she 'really' even though 'not' willingly aided in bringing him down' even though she did NOT mean to...& even if it would happen with someone else 'down the timeline'. She is still somewhat responsible for his fall. Catherine is an excellent communicator and she sounds good with all that she says about what she knows and I think she knows this truly in her mind, but she has more healing to do...but there is no reason to ' 'glorify' this just because of where she has been in her past. Her past has alot to do with how she was a stumbling block to him (and left his family in the mud). BUT her will to turn to God (rebirth of Catherine) and everything that she shared about the sessions with the women that were helping her and others...she was tracking right. She talks about God 'wrecking' her and her falling on her face before The Lord so much...this 'should' be 'intense warfare' and 'this plus'... should have been enough to keep her straight & enough to continue 'IN love' with Jesus to know that she in her 30's to understand that 'that the adulterous relationship they both engaged in'. Not only was he a predator...but she WANTED C.R. You two shared how he 'took advantage'...in this case she is really more the 1 that took advantage.

Look into Clergy Sexual Abuse and explain to me how a “counselor” or “teacher” or “therapist” can utilize their position of authority to gain information and then utilize that info to make sexual advances. That is abusive and manipulative. Add in the “prophetic” side from Chris always giving her prophetic words and you have a recipe for disaster. She took responsibility even in this podcast. But we are adamantly opposed to any idea that this was an equal playing field. It’s a power player looking around for vulnerable women to cheat on his wife with. And it’s called Clergy Sexual Abuse.
@katabartha6453Ай бұрын
I understand your viewpoint - and for the most part I do agree. And I also understand that she took responsibility for her own actions after what had happened, which is great. But I still think that she could have chosen to respond differently in that manipulative, messy situation as an adult. We all have a choice in every matter as Christians. As a matter of fact, God is in the business of growing up Hid children so that they can resist and/or stand up in situations like this as well. I am not pointing finger, all I am saying that in some ways it was consentual. And yes, all abuse in the church must be stopped - I am all for it!

@appleofhiseye104Ай бұрын
Reed preyed on her vulnerability with authoritative manipulation. This is narcissistic abuse profaning God’s name.
@SamObengAАй бұрын
She is not a victim, she was not manipulated. Missy Reed WAS the victim. And please stop using CSA or SA, because those terms only apply based on age and consent. They were both consenting adults. This is 3 years ago when she was 30, about 11 years after she had been involved at Morning Star. Her mom warned her to be careful. Chris never told her he would marry her, which means they both knew this was very wrong and the relationship was going nowhere. She knew Missy and knew she was in an affair with her husband. Chris knew he was married to Missy, and his actions would break their covenant before God. The good thing is she recognized the evil and repented, then told Chris who also repented. They never had intimate relations from that point. As Christians we sin (sometimes the sin can be egregious), and no human seems to be immune. When that sin has a strong hold on you, like sexual sins tend to be, it can be immensely difficult to come out of under it without a lifeline. In this case, they were both able to come out on their own without getting caught. So at least we should believe repentance was legit on both sides. If repentance happened 3 years ago why should any of them be treated as though they are still in sin??? Where is there precedence for this in scripture??? Either we believe the blood of Jesus washes away sins (no matter how egregious) after we repent, or we don't believe His blood can do that. Should someone be limited in what they can do for God because of the types of sin they have already repented from??? Some of the books in the bible will have to be edited or taken out if this is true. As for Chris not being forthcoming, it's normal for someone to hide details about their past when they are no longer living that life they are ashamed of. What matters is they are no longer living that life.
@j7489Ай бұрын
You’re absolutely correct but these people have been ideologically captured. They don’t believe women are capable of making autonomous choices and therefore aren’t responsible for their actions. I highly doubt they would be able to rationally explain why God judged Eve for sin when Satan himself deceived her. He had more authority and power than her and is an actual master manipulator and yet God held Eve accountable.

The C stands for clergy. Clergy Sexual Abuse. It’s a thing. And if you actually do some due diligence into the topic you’ll realize that most of these women end up feeling shame AND repentance for years. They do feel responsibility! While the men go on to do the same thing to the next woman because they are “restored” right back to pastoring. It’s insane. Because many of them are victimizers. Would you believe that there are other women that have likely received this type of contact from these abusers who get outed? They basically bounce around until they find someone with a really tough past that they can give prophetic words to until they can break them down. Many women “repent” privately but stay silent for decades. Understandably because men and women treat them like crap for telling their story and often prop up the leaders as though they were the victims. It’s so mind boggling.

She is also responsible for her part, she took responsibility and told the whole truth, and has repented as you heard and is currently walking that out. Chris Reed, on the other hand, was a shepherd, and she was part of his flock. He abused his position, his power, his responsibility, I could go on. Do not continue to abuse someone that has chosen to lay themselves bare before us. I listened to him tell his side of the story with his wife….if memory serves me correctly it was around 14 minutes and I left that performance more confused than before. He took no real responsibility nor did Rick Joyner. A lot of covering the rear ends in the public eye happening…which is wild to me as men of God because ultimately the only one who judges saw it ALL and knows their hearts. But do not attack someone taking full responsibility and telling you she’s guilty. If you are someone in the faith you should know better.

@WakeUpandWinPodcast It would be good for Christian psychotherapy to provide what is called trauma-informed care because they are dealing with psychological imbalances in the primal instincts that are not being dealt with out of ignorance. St. Paul talks about this in Corinthians. It is called "patriarchy" when the female is exploited by a male in a power role. The female also thinks she is receiving a listening ear and mistakes it for caring. Whereas the man is doing this pretend counseling to take advantage of the vulnerable female. To be fair to male pastors, women want their attention and idolize them. This is very hard on pastors' wives. In the psychology field, there are many more women counselors because listening is a more of a natural skill for them. Deep psychological counseling is needed because men displace unhealed emotional needs onto s*x. Also, the s*x aspects are not emotional for men. It is 90% physical only. For females they mistake attention for "love" because their hormones are the opposite of male hormones. They fantasize nurture and even potential marriage, but men are not deluded and seek conquest then feel satiated or repulsed and lose interest. Pastors' wives suffer most and are betrayed by both the cheating man and the cheating woman. Victims unconsciously attract perpetrators until they get psychological treatment. In the psychological field male counselors are not supposed to be alone with females. Mutual "seduction" is an unconscious risk. This gal needs psychological trauma-informed care to have a trained professional to listen to her in private. It is not healthy for her to be displaying her personal story on a public forum. Some say there is a major demonic "principality" controlling the U.S.A. Perhapsbit manifests this way because s*x promiscuity and abortion was tolerated for sixty or more years and has violated two generations of innocent young people. This clearly shows the charismatic gifts are not substitutes for psychological healing or character development. Predators and perpetrators look for personal details of vulnerable women to exploit. Much of what is called prophecy is actually psychic witchcraft. This is called "being a handler." She needs personal boundaries, but that has not been taught to her generation. Ladies, please understand, men have a different understanding of language because their hormonal structure is different. Education in "spiritual" warfare and knowledge about demonic principalities are needed. Spiritual maturity requires deep soul-searching in truth then taking action. Depression is the number one problem U.S. young people suffer from due to s*x'l activity outside of marriage. For both females and males. She still has a lot of work to do to fully mature emotionally. I know nothing about C.R. Hopefully, "Missy" will be spared further public disclosures. It embarasses pastors' wives. They are people in their own right and deserve privacy and private lives and not public betrayal.

He looks like he's in the peak of health, physically attractive, was swanning around at Morningstar as a superstar prophet and the CEO, idolized for his spiritual gifts and position of authority, but he had the nerve to feel sorry for himself because his wife wasn't “meeting all his needs,” and wanted to dump her, in spite of how much she HAS given him: her youth, her beauty, her body, her trust, her hopes and dreams.

If you listen to her story you’ll hear how she was taken advantage of and abused as a child. That significantly alters an individual’s ability to protect themselves from predators. @robertaeves I've read her statement. It's tragic. However, she was likely carrying a spirit of perversion due to her past. She needed deliverance. Chris abused his position of spiritual authority and instead behaved as a man in his carnal nature. None of it is right. But, they were both fully grown adults. So if they saw them, why is Rick Joyner NOW saying in a video that he never saw those--just saw the initial texts. Here's the quote from the Roys Report: "Both Kathryn and her mom, Karen, who also asked to be identified by only her first name, told TRR that Kathryn disclosed the matter, including sexual texts to several MorningStar leaders in February 2022, with Karen also present. Kathryn said she no longer has the phone with the sexual texts on it."

One thing I want to point out. A person’s physical age and the emotional maturity age can be completely different. When a person experiences abuse , trauma, and neglect, it can drastically alter the rate in which the brain and emotions mature. The brain cannot properly develop in a setting of overwhelming stress. The relationship sounded consensual from this woman and chris’s mouth, so the thumbnail with the word “victim” and the statement by the hosts that the woman was taken advantage of by Chris seems like it’s lacking integrity. The concept of taking advantage of someone usually stipulates something is being leveraged over the other person and that doesn’t seem to be the case here. This is a grown woman who is responsible for her actions, including to the point of accepting the emotional and sexual attention of a married man (regardless of status) and continuing the relationship over a period of time knowing full well he was married. It sounds like they both repented, cut things off, and confessed their relationship before senior leadership as it should be. Not sure about how Rick handled it after the fact, but from what I’ve gathered it seems it’s been largely a “protect HIS ministry at all costs” mentality that will likely be to his detriment. At the very least, it doesn’t look good. One point of contention is that this relationship was dug back up by a reporter looking to stir up dirt in what seems to be an attempt at turning an unrelated incident into a correlation of corruption and secrecy of a history of sexual misconduct that doesn’t seem to be there. From what I’ve seen, things became understandably publicized, then everyone freaked out and started throwing each other under the bus as is usually the case when anything like this comes out into the open. That’s why things like this should always be out in the open. Sure some of the congregation will leave. But the rest will respect you for being open and honest with them and afford you the same grace we’ve all been freely given.

I watched this video and I had to comment. First, SA was not committed. It was two consenting adults that sinned against each other and God. Yes, the minister was in authority and should be held accountable but fault lies with both parties. We all fall short of Gods glory and the blaming on one party is wrong. The Jezebel spirit was at play here. Redemption should be afforded for not only Kathryn but Chris too. It seems Kathryn has a good understanding of this. That mega church has allowed the Jezebel spirit to infiltrate as Revelations speaks about. Maybe the hosts should interview Chris also. When we start attacking our brothers and sisters in Christ, the world sees us as hypocrites. Also, scripturally when we sin we are to first, ask God to forgive us, then confess our sins to one another and pray for each other. I do not find in Scripture where it says pick one of the guilty parties and publicly shame them after they confess. In fact, Jesus said, he who is without sin, cast the first stone. I just feel like this is a public stoning. I get we are to expose darkness but not in a way that it harms the flock and Chris is a part of the flock, not just Kathryn. I pray for all my brothers and sisters in Christ.

I carefully read Kathryn's public statement, which has a vast amount more information than her interview. I have also watched and read all that Chris has had to say, and listened and read carefully to what Rick Joyner has said. I do not find anything that Rick said to be deceptive. Kathryn listed the people she met with, and it appears to me that these people are more than half of the Morningstar board members. I did not hear Rick say that she and her mother met with the ENTIRE board. There were two women in each meeting. Kathryn, a grown woman, and her mother, an even more grown woman. What gives anyone the idea that having any more women in the room would have changed anything? What was missing from this very long story is her actual testimony of exactly when, where, and how she became a Christian in the first place. There is a lot of spiritualizing in this story. If all the abuse she has endured is true, I feel great compassion for her. She was not seeing professional counselors at Morningstar. It was a voluntary ministry of helps one time per month. That is not much. I was a student at Morningstar 19 years ago, and I have found Rick Joyner to be the real deal. He is a bit gruff, but so what. He has been building an Army of God for all these many years. This 30 year old woman may have been too fragile to attend Morningstar when she did. I got so very much from my time as a student, but it was a tough, tough year that stretched me in every direction. If I had been as messed up mentally and emotionally as this woman, I do not know how I could have accomplished what needed to be accomplished as a student. One thing I do not understand is the notion that just because someone is well-known globally, one has to bend one's knee to that well-known person. Am I supposed to revere Kim Kardashian? No one is supposed to be impressed with any other person. They are just a person who is loved by the Lord exactly as much as you are loved. I don't buy this as an excuse to behave badly. I wish Kathryn well in her future endeavors, but she must take responsibility for her own failings as an adult if she is ever going to be all that God has for her. Something does not wash in this story.

Hey Kathryn, this is brave and true of you - thank you! Many of us who came up in the prophetic movement have seen the rotten underbelly for awhile. We are grateful for voices speaking truth here and moving others toward safety from poor leadership and systems built on devaluing the vulnerable.

Should someone who’s suffered a major stroke be expected to have past memory intact? I’m a nurse and even people who recover have deficits. I’m NOT excusing Rick, rather questioning his statements now on this situation. Very very disappointed at how this happened and Morningstar that I’ve followed 30 years. Praying for her complete restoration. She needs what was stolen restored. I’m so sorry for how this affected her journey. I do pray for Chris and Missy and the kids. What a humiliating experience for Missy.

It's too bad she did not take this opportunity to share her regret at hurting Chris Reed's wife and apologize to her. His wife is the only real victim in this scenario. It's sad that she had to go through that but as much as she doesn't see it, she made the decision to be an adulteress. True, her brokenness played a part but she knew what she was doing. He had a greater responsibility in it but ultimately she made a decision and acted on it. Thankfully they got their heads straight before it went too far. She mentioned forgiveness being for you more than the other person. That tells me she is playing the victim card a little too much. She needs to repent, forgive herself, and know that God forgives her too.

Ty C and B for this podcast. I appreciate how you gave Kathryn a supportive platform to share her experiences. Corrie Ten Boom said in one of her books, "Every experience we have is preparation for the work the Lord has for us to do." I see that so abundantly in Kathryn's life. I think we as Christians need to be aware of our own vulnerabilities and keep away from potential temptations with the opposite sex. I also think as women and men we need to pay attention to "our gut" as Kathryn mentioned, but also use our reasoning minds.

That such a female who was going thru healing for her past and the leader targeted her is really wrong. Even if it was a consensual of a healthy woman who was not vulnerable he still has shown himself not to be leadership material. He should never be in leadership and not over females! Rick also is a bad leader who is not protecting his flock, has no discernment, and is complicit as an enabler!

Amen. I wish these other folks here just blaming a young woman would get their heads out of the sand. Teachers and leaders have a moral responsibility to God for those under them. These zealots that don't know the heart of The Father are partnering and coming into agreement with the demonic spirits behind this stuff. Withhout repentance they will reap what they sow. is why this filth has never gotten out of The Church. God is cleaning house these perverted men refused to. James 3:1 says, "Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly."

@@preacherbarbiewell she is a grown lady. But yeah, it's totally unacceptable what Chris did. Chris fell into a trap. The devil had the perfect trap for him. Have you ever sinned in your life? Like you don't even know how high the dial was allowed to be turned up by the devil and if the devil had Chris at a 10/10 intensity level and you fall into sin when the devil turns it up to 8/10, do you want Chris to make fun of you over your fall, or to say " you should have known better Barbie". I find it fascinating how easy we can look at these guys and say " bad guy" and it's invisible and implied that we are better which is expressed as " I would never had done xyz" but if you really think you never would have done xyz if you were a guy. Well, we wrestle not flesh and blood but demons and actually we are all one body as Christians. Chris is your brother. Rick is your father. Or maybe Rick is your brother. The devil is happy with our harsh reactions in the body of Christ, it causes division rather than unity.

@@hebrews11vs5 You used a lot of words that I DID NOT. Please speak for yourself not me. You have no right to infer and assume I'm calling anyone bad. I'm not the judge and neither are you, God is. All have fallen short of God's Glory and we ALL need His Mercy, Chris included. We are to judge with Righteous judgement those within the Church. Pre mediated behavior isn't a mistake it's a sin and Sexual sin is completely avoidable. If you WON'T control your urges and the sinful desire that rises in the heart isn't dealt with and Shut down, it can turn into a sinful action. May God have mercy on Chris and his victims especially, including his poor wife who has clearly had a hard time by the way she appeared in the last video. And the devil is more than happy for The Church to keep promoting men, despite their inability to control their own bodies, while their female victims are gaslit and torn to shreds by The Body of Christ. Very sad🙏

Wow. “Victim” speaks out?? How in the world is she a victim? I’m so sick of the pendulum swing to “women are totally innocent” when they wreck a marriage. Good grief, ladies! Are we responsible for our actions or not? This was not rape, this was not spiritual abuse or manipulation. This was a consensual adulterous affair. At one point, she says “just texts and A kiss”, then later she admits it’s sexting and making out “and whatever” in his car?? Is the “whatever” what the mysterious $$ was for? So many questions you two did not ask- and yes, they should be asked because you are helping lead people into an unbiblical reaction to actual sexual abuse. We must not accept “believe every woman”. She should be held to account- not to the same level as a pastor, but she should be held to account for what she did to the actual victim- Chris’ WIFE. If men are to be outed and shamed, so should the willing woman.So sick of this garbage.

I have sought out counseling before from “leaders” and it doesn’t even cross your mind that they will make a move on you. Even if you develop a crush on them, their job is to recognize that as a symptom of your trauma or past pain and bring in another person. He capitalized on a vulnerable person for his own selfish desires. Regardless of her level of responsibility, that makes him 100% disqualified for any leadership position.

This situation is more common than is known and is a wound that needs to be addressed among many women. Your journey has not been in vain because your obvious submission to the Lord now can bring about so much healing for others. My prayers are with you.
