I've been into cigars for the past 3 years and been places and countries for the smoking experiences. Just a tip to anyone going out to purchase a humidor. Always go for the biggest humidor you can afford even if you think that you will only keep a dozen or so cigars. Because soon you'll have to get a bigger humidor for your growing collection ; )

Canada is a good bet. They have cigar auctions in Europe where you can get 10-20 year old Cubans, which are superior to the ones made today. If you do get a new batch, i would hold onto that cigar for a year or two before smoking.

The "enigmatic cambodian figure" this former hippy talks about is a little manlet with a babyface only a mother could love and his name is: Chen Zhi. This little Chinese guy purchased (through a "secretive" consortium of investors) Imperial Brands' 50% Habanos stake together with among others Alvin Chau, a convicted Macau gambling mogul hoodlum, who, at the time of the takeover, had strong political connections with all the Chinese government bigwigs as a Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference member. There is a reason why the Chinese tuhao/fuerdai get the majority of all the cigars and why the cigar price rose the way it does. Don't be fooled to think it's mostly bad crop. More $$$ for the Chinese owners.
