What a masterpiece of aircracft design and technology; I was amoung the few who helped build the first Commercial "Learjet" in Wichita Kansas; now known as Bombardier when Mr. Lear was alive. It was a French designed aircraft as recall.

It is always worrying when you hear stuff like "afterburners" when being given facts about a jet that absolutely has no "afterburners". It kinda throws everything else that has been said into question.
@johncorson6599 Жыл бұрын
Lol .. I know .. I was a flight test engineer for rolls Royce engines in Wichita and GE turbine engines at Boeing and I used to joke with the Boeing ppl I turned on the afterburners on the engines by putting in a sw adjustment (did thousands of them) as a joke .. when I hear that in the video I just started laughing at the ignorant comment the narrator made .. it was MY joke lol

Dear World of Luxury- please pronounce "Bombardier" correctly! Also, are you aware that the majority of Global Express series of jets and other large-cabin business jets (like Gulfstreams & Falcons) are owned by corporations to conduct their business and grow their companies - and not by "wealthy individuals' ? Yes, a number of wealthy individuals do own jets and many of them might even put their aircraft with aircraft management companies for charters. etc.! But the general consensus I keep getting with many KZbinrs is that these large business jets are being portrayed as "play things of the rich & famous", which is very rarely the case at all!

I worked for extremely right people on yachts and not many of them buy jets. Very few do. Only those that travel a lot, or share their jet with their entire family. The vast majority of wealthy people use Netjets, VistaJet, Podaway, etc. Most of them prefer the Netjet method because it's pooling the cost of the aircraft, pilots, insurance, hangar and maintenance. For those not ttraveling but 2 or maybe 3 times a month, it makes little sense to buy a jet and have all the associated costs. I worked for a yacht owner that had a prop plane that could also land and take off on water as his private plane. He flew it from his house right up to the yacht. When the ICON A5 came out, he was one of the first people to get one.

Fine Clif! Not sure what you mean by "extremely right people" that you worked for! I also don't know whether you are somewhat disagreeing or agreeing with me or somewhere in-between on my first comment!? I'm very well aware of what Netjets and Vistajet represent for their clients, whether it be fractional shares, jet cards, charter, etc. Are you aware that there are roughly 16,500 business jets in the United States alone? Obviously some companies, corporations, small businesses, and wealthy individuals use these planes to conduct business! From what I've read, there are also some 7000 clients that use Netjets yearly - be it for business or other purposes! So I will leave you with the following thoughts: Business jets are referred to as "Business" jets for some reason! ...and even the Icon A5 could be used for "business" purposes too!@@clifbradley

obviously the narrator has no idea how to properly pronounce the name of the company, the plane is a bomb dropping jet??

This is why a normal person can't own a private jet because of its high maintenance, insurance and catering.

Why isn't the name pronounced ; "bom-BAR-dee-ay"?

Because they either don’t care to pronounce it accurately or they are not educated as to its correct pronunciation. YOU are correct!

Because it's a French word and in that language the "dier" is pronounced according to French pronunciation rules. Company started in Quebec, a French speaking Canadian province.

Thanks for recognizing that although this is a favorite of corporations, your ad contains two female models amongst several "businessmen". Your ad should get with the reality. That is, the glass ceiling has definitely been cracked and you will find female corporate executives throughout the business world. (Except, of course, in those countries that reject women as being good only for breeding or sex and think of them as possessions). ,
