That is truly beautiful SOC. Would be cool to work from home knowing there was a SOC like that waiting for me to visit 3x a year :)

I'm a Private Security Officer who was recently promoted to a SOC operator position and let me say it looks similar to the movies/what people imagine it to look like. Large monitors with multiple surveillance cameras on each building we watch over, a global map with each of the company's assets and getting alerts if either of them are threatened, badging access controls, MG (Main Gate) controls, etc. It's definitely an interesting place to work in however I'm still in training so I'm no pro lmao. This is obviously different however somewhat similar. We are not programmers or anything just physical security. In a Command Center.

Doesn't the SoC also deal with analysis/audit of anomalous behaviours on the IT's networks?

@@KalashVodka175he said he is physical security. That would be everything related to physical access to an asset /property. Physical security officers who work at companies with a lot of assets may also have a SOC from which they manage access and intrusion events to physical assets.

This is awesome! I honestly have dreamed about working in an environment like this and to see it is mind-blowing. Too bad I don't live anywhere close to IL. Does DOT Security ever consider remote workers? Didn't see such an opportunity on your website

Really cool facility. But right from the gate, I seen that some of the employees are using PyCharm & CLion. So i wouldn't consider it exclusive but that's ok. That's also a lot of glass windows. I get the transparency & open air but man, daylight must be a pain. Thats imo. I consider working there buy yall not in Raleigh yet.

0:19 You could have employed a Receptionist- they’re more effective than 3 doors activated with the same access card.
@dot.security
@dot.security 8 ай бұрын
Hi Claudia! Thank you for your comment. While receptionists are indeed effective for building access, we opted for keycards to elevate our security measures. Only DOT Security employees are issued these cards, ensuring that access to our building is restricted solely to authorized personnel. This level of physical security also helps us remain SOC 2 compliant. Having a receptionist would require trusting individuals buzzing in, which could potentially lead to security breaches. Given the high number of bad actors, relying solely on verbal confirmation could pose a risk. Hope that made sense!
@claudiamanta1943
@claudiamanta1943 8 ай бұрын
@@dot.security I am faced with a dilemma now 🤔 Shall I pretend I believe this is genuine and state the obvious by giving a lesson in security from a common sense perspective or shall I not? Too late for the latter 😄 Cards can be lost or stolen especially when your employés stick out like a sore thumb, all suited up and looking so important and professional. Have a receptionist with an excellent visual memory and well trained in real security who watches the human traffic like a hawk (with a nice smile on her face) knowing who is who and who got the sack yesterday. Was that an attempt to test me to see if I know what a false dichotomy is (you can have a card system and a receptionist)? Oh, boy. Testing someone when you’re crap at testing is like believing your data is secure because you passed an audit.
