Amarnath should have ked india. He is the unsung hero of World Cricket. In fact we would not have won the 1983 WC but for this gentleman's performance. I carry great memories of Mr. Jimmi Amarnath's famous two eyed stance to counter express fast swing bowling. He scored 3& 2 centuries against Pakistan and WI. In 1982-83 he was the best batsman in the world. He was never made captain of India, what a pity.# Great he is Great he does. I wish he reads my comments. Thanks

My most favourite cricketer Mohinder Amarnath and I would never forget him taking the wicket of Bill Lawry in his debut Test match in Chennai as I was listening to the radio commentary perhaps I was listening to commentary for the first time. No doubt he was the most fearless cricketer and obviously most cool cricketer I have ever seen. I admired even his brother Surinder Amarnath.

That 1983 series in Pakistan and WI !! My goodness what a player Jimmy was.. He never took a ball on his pads in Pakistan! Lloyd confided that for the first time WI were discussing cricket outside the ground. ( Jimmy had the great wi quartet worried). I believe he hooked about 90 odd bouncers out of 130 odd that was bowled to him! And hooking the first ball for 6 after coming back from hospital!

One of the greatest and fearless Indian Batsman against Pace especially against the mighty West Indies Quartet and Pakistan lead by Imran. His trademark hook shot stands out even today. - A man who has made the maximum number of comebacks. - A Player who never got fair treatment from the Selectors especially the most biased Chairman of Selectors Raj Singh Dungarpur.

A simple and confident cricketer whose contribution to indian cricket has not been given his dues and acknowledged the main architect of 1983 world cup and Kapil was glorified that is the irony and given a raw deal by Bcci but he took it all in his stride and given his best for indin cricket

Jimmy Mohinder Amarnath's debut test: This was the Christmas 1969 test in Madras. Long before the Boxing Day test began as an annual tradition at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. I was in my ninth standard. I was there for the whole test - D Stand. The stands were built with casuarina poles and wooden planks. It is Jimmy Mohinder Amarnath's debut test; wholly memorable for his two wickets that sent back Keith Stackpole and Ian Chappell.

None better than Jimmy to talk about mental toughness. Caribbean tour just before winning the WC - Holding tapped him on the skull with an accurate bouncer - no helmet in those days - Jimmy returned with stitches & heavy bandages on his head - Holding welcomed him with another lethal bumper - hooked over fine leg for 6 - they never bounced him again in that innings.

Very aptly put. Gavaskar was a great batsman but never a team man. He was always concerned about his own batting records. His contribution to world cup 1983 winning team can be termed as almost negligible We could have won the cup with any other player in the opening slot. If not for Kapil Dev's leadership skills, we would not have won the world cup . Today Gavaskar keeps basking in the glory of calling himself as a world champion during his commentary. He was/is a very selfish person and nowadays portrays himself as a flag bearer of Indian cricket at every opportunity.

A great all rounder who never hasitated to speak the truth. A deceptive bowler who was famous for breaking partnership. The void left by amanath has not been filled to date in indian team
