90 consistency is enough for him in LA 2028. If Nadeem is his only competitor, he won't be fit till 2028 as he is a big guy. Its harder for bigger, bulkier guys to keep their fitness. Neeraj is a good athlete, probably one of the best we have produced. But remember the sport keeps improving year on year, season on season. In the last Olympics 87.58 was good enough to win gold, this time the qualification was at 84 was the standard and 3 people threw over 87.58 just to qualify. Secondly every person has a top range, Neeraj no matter how much we love him, has never crossed 90 and had it not been for the freak elimination of the German Johannes Vetter, he might not have won Gold at Tokyo too. Therefore it all depends on the quality of the field and ofcourse who’s day it is, someone like Nadeem or even the young german Max Dehning are able to throw freak throws over 90/92, so if they have a day, Neeraj can’t do much. He can improve but from the looks of it, maybe a meter or two at max, whereas there are youngsters coming jn that are able to throw 90 plus regularly. My understanding is he has probably one more Olympics in him and that will be it for him before the competition catches up. Germany and Belgium in particular are building up their javelin squads like anything. So thank you Neeraj but a lot more competition is coming in your way, we hope you do well

Javelin throw depends on various factors like air resistance, wind speed, humidity, track type and also the thrower's power and technique. It is not a linear progression. Educate yourself a bit. Do you think it is easy to throw 90m+ in every single event? Barring Vetter, please enlighten me on someone who has done this, competition after competition, year after year. Max Dehning threw his 90.20m in February, how many times has he gone past 80m since then? If we don't consider the olympic final, how many times has Arshad consistently managed to throw 85+ ? Neeraj will not have monster throws like Nadeem or Vetter, because he doesn't have their build. They are naturally heavy and powerful athletes capable of incredibly high PBs. But they are incredibly injury prone as well (Vetter, Hoffmann, Nadeem, even Peters fall in this category). How consistently have they thrown those 90m+ throws? What Neeraj has over them is flexibility, unbridled consistency and technique. He is similar to throwers like Andreas Thorkildsen and Tero Pitkamaki. He won't have monster throws / high PBs, but he will consistently throw near his best in every single competition, ensuring he is always in the podium spot. Ja Zelezny became the GOAT not because he threw 90m throws, but because he threw 85+ on almost all of his professional events and had podium finishes. Consistency makes you great. For a nation so bad at sports, you people have a generational athlete who is capable of becoming an all timer. Given his track record, once he starts throwing 90+ he will consistently throw them, irrespective of the event or the venue. He will become almost unstoppable. Put some respect to his name.

💯 From 2004 onwards if you see Olympics javeline final, winning Gold medal throw numbers have kept changing from time to time instead of just increasing with every olympics with passage of time ,technology & inproved training also .At olympics in javeline throw ,the throw numbers have always gone one time up in 1 olympics and second time going down like in next olymoics . Like 2008 Olympics javeline gold was decided at 90.58m then at 2012 Olympics gold medal was decided at just 84m throw only then in 2016 Olympics it was again decided 90.18m throw and then in 2020 Tokyo neeraj got gold with 87.58m throw only and now arshad Nadeem got gold with a record throw 92.97m which broke the previous olympics record. Javelin sports mainly depends hugely on weather like humid / dry conditions and also wind speed and various other factors like technique like blocking leg etc and all that .... In humid conditions it's almost very very difficult almost impossible to cross 90m and in dry conditions you can get 90+ if the athlete is capable considering how all athletes are capable nowdays to do it , 90m gets achieved in dry conditions on a given day with some assistance from wind . But 90m is not something which can be achieved regularly unlike some exceptions like Jan zelezny of Czech who used to do it consistently in all conditions due to his throwing technique but even he also have less number in throws which he throw at humid conditions in comparison ehile throwing at Dry conditions ,neeraj also has almost similar technique as of him with little minor differences that's why neeraj is also consistent in throws like him in all weathers whether dry or humid as he throws between 87-90m consistently , where as Johanes vetter of Germany who has second best throw in javeline history totally has different technique and he also use to throw over 90m mark consistently at some point of time in his carrer in various tournament before 2020 Olympics but he failed to deliver and throw above 90m at tokyo olympics in humid conditions but he managed to do that consistently only in dry conditions , but not once he did that in humid conditions . In Humid conditions vetter struggled to throw 90m even once . So to throw above 90 m in humid conditions is a different ball altogether than throwing above 90m in dry conditions on a given day with wind also a great factor . This time in Paris there were dry conditions and not humid unlike last time in Tokyo where conditions were humid which were totally different to Paris so throws were high this time in comparison to last time but next time the conditions in los Angeles will be humid conditions similar to Tokyo weather where gold will be decided on less than 90m throws between 85-90 m throws as it will not be easy to throw 90m in humid conditions 💯

Javelin depends a lot on the surrounding conditions. A fit Neeraj has a good and consistent technique, which will always keep him in medal contention.

Unless you are blind you can see there are athletes running on tracks right after the javelin area finishes, if the javelin goes anywhere around 100 meters it is risky to the lives of other athletes. Therefore the structure of the javelin is such that in normal circumstances you will not be able to throw it above 97-98 meters

No! Arshad did not have his day. When you train months for an event, go through pre-qualification, then the actual olympic qualifying round then to the main event, and you not only win Gold but also break an olympic record while doing so….That is NOT called “having you day”. A team can have their day in an easy game like cricket which is played btwn 8 countries, you can get lucky there. But in this sport which requires athleticism and the ability to go literally against the WORLD where you are facing athletes for over a hundred countries, and you on to win the Gold and break a record…is not called having your day. Neeraj has millions invested into him by IOC, sponsers, goes abroad for training/rehab, and yet has not touched the 90m but is still overhyped as Golden Boy. Meanwhile Arshad trains in a gym without Air Conditioning, gets no support from the POC, had crowdfund the purchase of a Javelin for training, had a random cricket club from Multan sponsor him since no one else would. And he goes and throws a 92.97m breaking the record by some distance. FYI Arshads last throw was a 91.5m which itself would have won Gold and Broken the olympics record. The guy who came third, Andersen Peters himself has thrown a 90m+ in a previous event. So 90m is the new baseline now, and Neeraj needs to learn to cross it.
