Tasmania and Darwin both deserve their own AFL Team. The Tax Payer should not be forced to pay for a New Stadium though the AFL is a Business not a Charity.

Tell that to WA we spent over 1 billion building a new stadium. The AFL took over the stadium as was intended but paid nothing towards it. Not 1 ceent.

Ikon Park in Victoria which is not even an AFL Venue but is an AFLW venue that has about 6 events a year has been gifted over $62 million from both the Federal and State Governments to build new Facilities. The money being wasted on Stadiums in this Country is Criminal.

When it comes to AFL expansion, team number 19 has to be Tasmania 110%. For team number 20, I’d say it would quite likely be the Northern Territory, but the AFL season is played during what would be the dry season in the NT. And the NTFL is played during the wet season, through Christmas and New Year’s, but hopefully that wouldn’t rule out the NT joining the AFL. Other possible candidates that could become the AFL’s 20th team include Canberra, a 3rd team in QLD representing North QLD and Central QLD, or to a much much lesser extent, close to zero chance, stronger clubs in local state leagues such as Norwood, Sturt, Port Melbourne, Williamstown etc

For the viewers outside of Australia. Aussie Rules Football is popular in state and territories like Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and Northern Territory. Rugby League is popular in New South Wales, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory.

There used to be Multiple Professional Comps. SANFL, WAFL and the VFL. Many Elite Players like Poly Farmer chose to play the majority of their Careers outside of the VFL. There are less teams today than what there was is the 1960's.
