I think Yong is not stupid, he probably went into this knowing all the cringe and hate he will be getting, but it's the price of being a pioneer in this business venture of creating kpop industry in south-east asia. He's just putting himself out there to do the ground work, to have an understanding of what it takes to be a trainee, establish a network, laying the foundations, walking the ground, before having what it takes to make good trainees. It's a trade-off, to be a pioneer in this business, he has to first endure the cringe and mockery from the public, just like any other pioneer endeavor in the past. Chances are, he might have the final laugh down the road. Let's not forget, most consumer spending has shifted from physical retail stores to concerts/events/vibes. it's smart to do business in this direction

To be fair, less than 5% of the population live on landed property. And it was said somewhere else that he had investable assets of 120m. He did admit that he is "normal wealthy" not considered a lot in rich people's world. But I'd say anything above 30m makes you rich rich in Singapore. Not billionaire powerful but he's definitely beyond private banking status. He can spend 6m a year and not make a dent in his portfolio. That's 115k a week. Lol I just realised he can spend double the average yearly income in singapore in a week, and still maintain his assets.

It is still a landed title and not strata title. It's not cluster housing but semi-d status. Semi-d nowadays is super expensive in Singapore and cost up to 10 mil easily. Bungalow will be even higher than 10 mil. GCB of course will inch closer to 100mil range.
