I use CMC invest in Australia. I could not vote, when I inquired I got the response. "Please be advised that due to our custodian model, you won't be able to vote on any international corporate actions." Thanks for all of your help on this.

TeslaBoomerMama, I admire what you do for the Tesla community! I am a retail investor of Tesla. I also own Tesla shares via index funds, which accounts for a nontrivial percentage of my total equity portfolio. I wish there is a way that I can vote for the Tesla shares I own via index funds. I do not feel comfortable to have any brokerage firm to represent me to vote.

Only the equity index funds from State Street (80% of these) and five Vanguard equity index funds allow for voting, and you need to reach out to them early if you want to do this. Otherwise you may be wise to consider selling those funds and investing in individual stocks.

Thank you for this information. I am a another UK Tesla shareholder (but not in your survey numbers) and had written to HL earlier in the year and been been told it was not possible to vote because of the CDI scheme. I am starting the process to get them to my ComputerShare account.

1:12:32 I'm still confused about this: on one hand you (Alex) recommended to check the tax implications - which obviously would be a problem for me, and that is caused by me selling the shares at my bank and buying directly. At the same time transferring the shares to a transfer agent doesn't seem to look like selling and buying, it seems only like re-registering shares closer to the shares issuer. How is it then?

Hi Alarix, if you can manage it as a transfer, then there is no taxable event, even better. I just want to ensure people take the upmost care before doing anything.

This is so technical, and boring in a way - but so many hidden gems that I reluctantly stayed on! Maybe I'd be more glued on if right at the start, we were told that we could try to do to the Tesla short sellers what the Gamestop shareholders community did? Thank you very much for this piece!

@@TESLABoomerMama nope Alex, I wanted to express that my body felt and gave me reactions that it was boring, but I watched it all nevertheless, and had to come to conclusion that there were many hidden gems that made me glad I watched!
