Am a full benin guy though i don't like what you doing but i believe all you are doing that seem negative will lead to what my grandpa always say Igbos and Edos are more related than people think. There's truth in this misconceptions. It is a war between heritage female and male offspring( The igbos are the daughter side while the Edo line is the son side) My man continue your thing cos i believe everything work out for the greater good and i also believe there would be a common ground one day maybe not our generation but blood is thicker than water. Yes as an Igbo and a historian I have lived with my countless edo neighbors in Lagos during my childhood.. It's will shock you wat I observe 1. The way my Igbo mother tie rapper is the exact way the uromi eshia edo speaking people living with us do same. 2. All is same even food music lyrics but the only difference is the language.... 3. Saying the Bini language is a mixture of Yoruba, Igbo and portuguese is the most insulting thing ever and saying the Igbos built the great wall of Benin is a sign of desperation to the highest order.....I watched the videos (1,2,3,4) and I know my history so well and my family was insulted in this video but unlike other Edo's who will come hear and rain insults, am just curious what the agenda is because it's confusing what maazi dibia is driving at. He was saying things like rice scattered by a chicken, what is his point? Is he saying the benins are not indigenous to our land or the benins are Igbos or is he saying they are both related or what? Well all is laughable so I won't indulge in insults but one thing is clear every neighbor of the Benin empire most talk about Benin empire to understand its own origin, from the East, West and down south. That alone shows the authenticity of the Benin history as the custodian to all civilization around it. Benin empire was raided and destroyed and it art works are evidence which is scattered around the world today( British, America,china, germany etc) and those arts are indigenous to it people, in fact they are historical records of invents. The portuguese wrote about the empire and how civilized it already was 100 of years before they came and those things they wrote is indigenous to it people which are the current Edo people. My question is why isn't there an ancient civilization among the Igbos? Why didn't the Igbos built monuments In their original area? How can you give what you don't have? ....it takes years of craftsmanship to achieve what the Edo's achieve and if it's true the Igbos did all those things in the Edo territory then there would be a trace of such in theirs. It's common sense bro, we Benins don't argue to this things and from the family I come from I just laugh when listening to these things in fact I love watching them because it shows how vast the empire was and how people envy the empire. Not true. Ancient Iduu language was Jukun, spoken by Igallas and ancient Igbos was Jukun . Mamba or Maraba was basic greeting or welcome. Awoomamama people greet Aanma. Agbor greet Maaba. All same. This was how ancient Igallas and Igbos greeted. Agbor people from Nnri took this greetings to Enuani. Where did these Iduu greetings come from?, From Arabic. Arabs greet Maraba or Manmba. Igbos/ Igallas came from Arabs , to Jukuns to Igbos/ Igallas. Edo language is derived from Arabic , Illaje or Ugbo and interactions with Agbor people.
