This lady is one lady i do respect alot because she's got no scandals but i am sorry to hear this. Its no good news at all. For me as a Certified Relationship Mentor i always advise couple to see how to resolve issues when you see them instead of keeping quiet until it lead to separation. Act fast and learn to forgive easily. #hearttohearttv

People say marry your best friend marry the love of your life..marriage is hard work ..I've come to realize that marrying your best friend doesn't mean that u guys wont fight ..marrying the love of your life wont garantee success..My marriage isnt perfect it took work to get to where it is today,I got married in haste we barely knew each other,we both came from different backgrounds me from a wealthy home but my spouse was not from a privileged home we always clashed and fought alot in the beginning it took alot of pain and submission, taking care of someone when people have taken care of you all of your life, finding yourself it's so hard and involves a lot, but what I have realised about marriage is that it takes forgiveness to make a marriage work,it takes patience and most importantly no third parties or friends,I've learnt to make my spouse my only friend and confidant I've learnt to trust God to take the wheel .Am glad that I have a spouse who isnt perfect but unbelievably faithful..who wasnt my bestfriend who wasnt the love of my life but has become all these things over the years 3 beautiful children with twins on the way ,Hes pushed me to better my self by getting my BSN in nursing,he constantly wants to see me win,hes always there to help me so fir these little things am grateful. I believe Opposites do attract the rest is in Gods hands..if ure going through marital problems or issues know that it gets better with communication respect and submission..Gods grace cover all marriages..Amen..No marriage is perfect, starting a marriage because of chemistry is certainly not a guarantee the marriage will work, starting a marriage because hes the love of your life doesn't guarantee success but starting a marriage with someone who might be totally different from u might succeed with God as the center and no third parties 🤗❤❤..I wish u well yvonne and Xavier is absolutely adorable bless him

It’s sad how a man would put in so much effort to get a woman, but won’t put in similar work to keep the relationship. Most women want to be in a committed relationship, not jumping from one place to the other. Please men, If you know you’re not ready for commitment, look for a player like you & stop breaking people’s heart😢😢

Thank you Yvonne Jegede, for sharing your story. You are a brave woman, and did the right thing by leaving during your pregnancy. Better early in the marriage than later, only for the situation to get worse and negatively affect your son. Nigerian women and black women in general need to stop suffering and enduring in order to hold onto toxic marriages/relationships. I wish you and your son a happy, prosperous life.

i usually don't go about commenting esp if i haven't heard from the other side but on this one...the so called husband is just WRONG!!!1 At least be there for your son... before, during and after his arrival. This alone can make the son detest you FOREVER cos he can only be born ONCE and you cannot turn back the hand of time...i guess i watch too much paternity court hence my reasoning. Pregnancy alone in itself comes with a lot of stress and then to do it ALL by yourself???? no feet rubbing, back rubbing, going together to the doctor's office, ultrasound etc. I pray for you this day with all the needed strength you'd need to nurture your child.

@@ramia184 exactly what l said. "walk away" Maybe that is what the man has done. Women want to be seen and for people to see them as "victims" in most or all relationship breakdowns. Not so and am fed up of this "see how l have been treated". I repeat there are wicked women and men out there. You don't have to destroy the other because you no longer have feelings for that person even if there are no children involved. When children are involved you both need to put your "thinking caps on" l am one of the men that believe in treating a woman with respect and dignity and l expect the same from the woman. However, we all know that no one is perfect only God is. As a man or a woman look for a future partner, look at their habits/vices you can live with and those you cannot live with and make your decisions from there. Finally, most women are more interested in the man's look and their bank balance than anything else.

If anyone knew the answer to that they would be a millionaire. If a man doesn’t want children early in the marriage, why can he not tell the woman that??????? So they can be sure they beef up the contraception. Ironically, it’s these types of men who don’t want children that are the randiest and won’t want to use protection. This one even took her to a fertility doctor!!!!!! Why turn on her after getting her pregnant? I have heard numerous versions of this story, it’s not even funny. Or maybe they assume that once the woman is pregnant, she has nowhere else to go and can’t attract any other men so they can start treating her the way they really feel. Thank God for women empowerment. Very soon he would have started ‘toasting’ other women in her presence.

Some men can be complicated. I’ve gone through a relationship where he asked me out for 18 months, and we were very good friends during this period. Finally I said yes and we dated for almost a year, and boom, he started being ‘unnecessarily complicated’😃. I watched things just fade with no explanation and I went through all the phases of mourning the death of something beautiful. Finally I decided in my heart to walk away peacefully, and five months after not hearing from this guy, he suddenly wanted to get back. Unfortunately I was done emotionally and spiritually. He is still trying. Don’t know why SOME men make things complicated🤷🏾‍♀️

There's a whole lot more she didn't tell us. Trust me. The guy seems to have skeletons in his cupboard which she dosen't really want to reveal. The man might even be gay or impotent but she dosen't want to expose him yet. From what she said, she probably got pregnant through Artificial insemination. And she said u have to ask questions before jumping into marriage without taking anything for granted. Those are ur clues.

Even when they've dated for years? I personally feel that both of them have an axe to grind in this situation. Yvonne's maturity is somewhat borne out of timidity either because the husband tolerated some level of unfaithfulness from her when they were still in courtship & in return, she either would buy him gifts or give him some money & that way, there was an understanding btw them & the lady felt she could marry him based on the fact that the guy could tolerate her & that she already knew the guy as such. Now, the guy isn't comfortable with that anymore when he either remembers or sees some of the guys that probably have had his wife, he would feel so emasculated & weak in the sight of his marriage so the lady is guiding her utterances cos whenever in marriage & things like this happened, women always tend to be the one without faults but in reality, that's never true. U'll be surprised to hear the man's side of this story or maybe the reason he wouldn't come out to speak is because he hopes they settle someday or because of their child cos this for me, is really an integrity issue. How about a DNA test in the first place?

Men should understand that a pregnant woman is not "Normal". I understand this now. A pregnant woman gets angry, irritated most times and desires the uttermost attention. It takes only a wise man to understand and handle his pregnant wife the right way. They would have overcome those moments after delivery but the husband didn't help matters. I pray for a stronger you.

It's well.. They need to explain to people what's not working in their marriage to educate others sha.. I really feel her and how much pain she has swallowed down. It is heart breaking seeing young couples marriage breaking down💔😔.. I am married for 4years now with 2 beautiful kids and its been from one blessing to another😍 marrying my best friend is the best decision ever. Little tips from my experience 1)marry into a Christian family 2)marry a character you can handle 3)have same vision and goal 4)sincerity and open minded to each other 5)share your weakness 6) apologies all the time wrong/right. Women are so strong, I don't know where we got the strength from💪.. When you are married don't forget to treat your husband as the first born 😂😂 and all will go smoothly .. Sad to say i enjoyed this interview. I am a proud Ijebu man married almost 2 decade's to a beautiful Yoruba queen living in UK. I appreciate Yvonnes brave honesty. Your marraige can be fixed if you put God at the centre. On a practical level do DNA and put your husbands polluted mind at rest. I dont personally believe in across the sea relationship because i cant do without sex or my 9ja food like most men. I want it only with my wife. Thats the selfish part of a man. Also ladies dont be too relaxed allowing your female friends into your home. They could corrupt your mans brain. Keep temptation away. Finally no house girls. I even make my wife control the TV and internet password. I have seen what women can do to a man. I feel my dad was almost destroyed by women so i put a lot of controls in place. Finally my mum can not live with me in my marital home. She can come on holiday but she must go back to her house. I hope i have helped other women and men who do not want to destroy their marraige or add to the sad statistics of the state looking after your children.

Dear Yvonne, congratulations on your beautiful baby and your strength at this time. Although it may be somewhat “therapeutic” to have these public conversations about your marriage for public consumption please please rely on the shoulders of your immediate family and one or two genuine friends and minimize these public discussions. Let the “battle” if any, be private notwithstanding that you are a much admired public figure. There are many who may “delight” in what is perceived to be negative situation. Marriage is always a challenge and personal to the both parties only. May God continue to bless you all.

I disagree to an extent. Yes, there are an immature few who will delight in the details regarding the demise of her marriage. However, there are exponentially more people who will gain strength from hearing that this wonderful lady has endured emotional abuse and neglect. There are numerous people who feel alone and are isolated who can relate with her. The best way to deal with dysfunction is to expose it. Her ex-husband's narcissistic behavior needs to be exposed. If he didn't want a child then he shouldn't have ever gotten married and he should've paid for a vasectomy or wear condoms. Also, the abusive people giving her secondary trauma... i.e. joking about her spouse emotionally abandoning her...need to be exposed as well.
