Both got stuck for a long time in their respected video games and went crazy for revenge. When revenge was fulfilled it didn't fulfill them and left them wanting more, for Needlemouse it was more revenge and for M was regret.

You know, M was taking logic in the end credits song, and it actually implied with the gamers (in my point of view), when he killed both bf and gf, he started to feel regret on killing them both, because they were the only ones who survived for very long until they get to confront him for the last time, he might have gotten what he wanted but because of that, he ended up being alone again, as for the gamers, its like 100 percenting a game they got, and when they went back to play it again, they realised that it wouldnt be the same when starting a new game, repeating the whole process and, eventually, not play the game again (this is only for games that have a campaign or story mode, not online mode nor constant updates)
