If you think about it, Needlemouse and M have similar backstories. M got backstabbed by Daddy Dearest, Needlemouse got killed by her friends. Both got stuck for a long time in their respected video games and went crazy for revenge. When revenge was fulfilled it didn't fulfill them and left them wanting more, for Needlemouse it was more revenge and for M was regret.

To be fair, The problem with Sonic.exe mod makers that they overpowering BF and GF for no reason as even Xeno can actually one shot both of them. But Mario.exe mod makers doesnt to that idiot "overpowering" bf and gf shit and actually makes them lose. Actually sm64 classified is about an ai that was going to be used for sm64 to make sure the game ran smoothly the reason luigi is like that is because in the story it is implied that luigi was going to be in the game but was cut off similar to dying, which is why there is blood in the song and why it takes place with a sense of drowning, the luigi is dead and had drowned, the mario that tells them to leave is actually the ai enhancer which is why it is faceless, they say it hurts because the way the person playing the game in the story, Jim who is implied to have worked for the company when sm64 was being made had played it in a way that physically hurt the ai. The ai canonly goes by they/them and has pciked the name Stanley for itself and has access to all the games files, being able to make secret or twisted levels and changing the text. (i love sm64 classified)

You know, M was taking logic in the end credits song, and it actually implied with the gamers (in my point of view), when he killed both bf and gf, he started to feel regret on killing them both, because they were the only ones who survived for very long until they get to confront him for the last time, he might have gotten what he wanted but because of that, he ended up being alone again, as for the gamers, its like 100 percenting a game they got, and when they went back to play it again, they realised that it wouldnt be the same when starting a new game, repeating the whole process and, eventually, not play the game again (this is only for games that have a campaign or story mode, not online mode nor constant updates)

In fact, M's regret is only for killing BF because he was the one who entertained him after so long, GF was always the target but BF was only coincidences and M's interest. If we realize, he never wanted to kill BF with his own hands: They made a deal for him to escape, he didn't kill them when he got angry, he let them go to the Overworld and in All Stars he gave him the opportunity to end his own life
