Sadistic soldiers and people tramped all over innocent victims. Most chilling l find is photos of little children with yellow stars sewing on their clothes. Hitler and company were sent as a scourge upon the earth. They come in darkness and leave in the depths of hell. Lord have mercy on all the victims..

Many Jews from Vienna and German cities were deported to Riga. On arrival the older people were taken on busses and shot. My mother had a friend who was deported to Riga with his mother from Vienna. He survived but not his mother. There was an excellent documentary on KZbin how he was caught by the Mossad.

My mother in law was from riga. She took the last train out to freedom. She came from a wealthy family and left dirt poor.

You go from being awarded the Harmon trophy for your achievements in aviation, to years later harming the people who praised you as a national hero of Latvia. I was eagerly waiting for you to cover Hubert Cukurs soon World History team, and once again you did exceptionally well.

That photo of Mia Epstein...I've seen it probably 500 or 600 times...I never knew the name. I looked it up though and it said she was 18, not 30.

Because there was no media globalization and easy access to info like we have now.. The people taking photos and pics were closely monitered, it was a risk even doing it... Just like North Korea we still get leaked videos and all today but its still possible to keep the world in the dark by a ruthless regime.. Clearly evident by N. Korea

these photos of the poor woman our disturbing to say the least. As you say most of the monsters lived out there lives without paying any price for what they did, too bad any of them were allowed to live.

Soviets rounded up Latvians for a trip to Siberia, where they were murdered. The Germans were just as bad. If they had been true liberators and not murder jews and others history may have been different.
