Happens a lot in Baseball. It's a TEAM game. You pay ONE guy a lot of money - then you can't fill the needs of other positions. Look at the Mariners. Won 116 after Randy, Griffey, and AROD left. Bad example, but after Mo Vaughan left the Angels - they won literally the year after. Braves spent millions on their HOF pitching.. but in the Playoffs.. they had no Relief - which cost them a lot of the time.

6:50 - One thing I just realized that most people forget, the Nationals did something EXTREMELY impressive here. After winning Game 2 of the World Series, the Nationals had won 8 STRAIGHT postseason games in a row. Recap of those 8 games: NLDS Game 4: Nationals 6 and the Dodgers 1. NLDS Game 5: Nationals 7 and the Dodgers 3 (in 10). NLCS Game 1: Nationals 2 and the Cards 0. NLCS Game 2: Nationals 3 and the Cards 1. NLCS Game 3: Nationals 8 and the Cards 1. NLCS Game 4: Nationals 7 and the Cards 4. World Series Game 1: Nationals 5 and the Astros 4. World Series Game 2: Nationals 12 and the Astros 3. During those 8 games, the Nationals outscored their opponents 50 to 17. Over the entire playoffs (including WC), Nationals outscored their opponents 78 to 61 (through 17 games).

Game 6 turner was safe idc what yall think🤷♂️ he wasnt on the line
@JediMastr804 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Turner was definitely safe. That was a very bullshit call by the Umps. He was clearly well within the line and safe. I've seen players run WAY outside, further than Turner and they were still marked as safe. Astros made a bad throw, and the Umps tried to bail them out of it. The fact Joe Buck said the call wasn't review-able is even more bullshit as it SHOULD BE. In fact, any questionable call in the field of play (not including balls or strike calls) should be review-able as a Crew-Chief Review. NFL reviews many plays all the time as a booth review, so MLB should be able to do the same. It's good that shortly after, the HR still gave the Nats more runs but it should have been a 3 run HR and not just a 2 run HR. Luckily they won the game 7 to 2 and didn't need that, but still. I think this was a major turning point in Game 6 that gave the Nats to momentum to push through Game 7.

From an Astros fan, this year was pretty great watching us win the World Series and watching your Dodgers get plunked in the first round again.

2018 and 2019 were great years for teams from Washington. First in 2018 the Capitals won the Stanley Cup, and then in 2019 the Nationals won the World Series.

This series was better than the scoreboard will say it was. Every game was close, the winning team would just pull away at the end.

Yeah, this is one of those plays the Umps 100% got wrong. I know the point of the rule is to prevent the runner from purposely interferring with a throw and would allow them to be called out for doing so. This is NOT what happened here. - The pitcher made a horrible throw for one. - The runner started on the left side of the line but moved to the RIGHT side of the line to touch the RIGHT SIDE of the bag. He was FULLY within the baseline and allowed to do this. The Umps made a HORRIBLE call (most likely on purpose) to screw over the Nats. The used this rule to try to bail out the Astros for making an error throw. What's even MORE annoying is when Joe Buck is like "that play isn't reviewable". My question is WHY!!? Excluding balls and strikes, damn near EVERYTHING should be allowed to be reviewed. If anything this should have been an automatic "Crew Chief Review". I know they put on the headset, but I think this was moreso one of those to "try to save face" and didn't do anything. The only positive thing is with Rendon hitting a HR and the Nats later tacking on more runs, it didn't really effect the game as much. There were A LOT of horrible "strike 3" calls that were way outside the zone, it wasn't even debatable. MLB did NOT want the Nats to win and constant screwing them over throughout the World Series makes this very suspect for sure. Some will troll and be like "that's not true" but the Astros are already PROVEN cheaters. MLB didn't do the SMART thing to vacate their World Series. Why is it a lot of sports will 100% pull a teams winning championship if they fight overwhelming evidence of misconduct and cheating, but MLB won't? And no, I'm not a Nats fan, I'm a Cubs fan. However, I WAS cheering on the Nats during this postseason. They took down both the Brewers and Cardinals and I'm still enjoying that (especially since the Cards got swept in the NLCS in 4).
