The Dodgers rotation this postseason could have been Glasnow, Stone, Kershaw, and River Ryan. Missed Vesia in the CS. Missed Phillips in the WS. Missed Betts and Muncy for a large stretch. Yamamoto injured, Kershaw barely pitched, Treinen had an IL spell, Graterol missed the whole season. Bring in Flaherty (who NYY could have had) and he delivered late in the reg. season when they needed him. Edman hadn't even played yet when they acquired him. Yes, LA has a ton of money to spend, but they also spend it wisely and make shrewd acquisitions.

Let's not act like the Yankees don't spend a ton also. And if the re-sign Soto and Cole it will only get more expensive. You will notice in my comment I wasn't just talking about the Dodgers stars. 3:45 Behold Ohtani's pivotal clutch double that was merely the linchpin for Freddie's grand slam, absolutely demolishing the Yankees’ spirit and majestically turning the World Series tide towards the Dodgers. Yet, totally minor detail like a dislocated shoulder in game 2, rendering him unable to hit and still heroically playing through the pain, has crowned him a "postseason choker" in the eyes of those casuals who think baseball revolves solely around home runs. Clearly, in their simplistic world, the noble act of sustaining injuries is the ultimate hallmark of failure.

Some "first ever"s in World Series: Walk Off Grand Slam (Freeman), player to homer in 4 straight games (Freeman), one pitch save (Vesia), 5 run deficit overcome in series clincher (Dodgers) ... any others? The only real chance of any team beating the Dodgers is in the NLDS. In a short series anything can happen. I believe only the Braves have beaten them in a 7 game series and that was in 2021 when the Dodgers lost Muncy the very last game of the season. And the Braves had an excellent team that year and there was no shame in losing to them.

Two months later and Soto has signed with the Mets. Looks to me like the Yankees dodged a $765 M bullet. No, probably cant replace Soto's production, but they can certainly re-tool and be far better off financially and in position to make impactful moves at the deadline. Mets are going to be dragged down by Soto's contract for a lot of years.

Managerial decisions in games 1 and 5, defense in game 5, and Aaron Judge getting hot too late, the dodgers capitalizing on their chances and on our mistakes (yankees fan) and they deserved to win, a failure of a season in our books, and success for the dodgers Lets go Yankees, and the cut within that play and the next play is wild.
