I have seen so many comments about how the role of Harper should have been played by a lesbian. But I am not sure who could have portrayed Harper's better than Mackenzie. The real story is the struggle Harper goes through...and with Mackenzie you feel everything she is struggling with. Amazing acting job!

I thought at first its just another cringy lesbian film but i'm surprised the movie was actually really good,just enough love and conflict and drama,the amount of it all just makes the movie a good one.I'll put this on my list of favorites,something i can binge on holidays if ya'll know what i mean.😉

IMO, Abby shouldn't have forgiven Harper so easily, she was treated quite badly (I know Harper was trying to hide them, but ditching her gf at parties and laughing with ex-bf infront of her are really not good excuses) and I felt really sorry for her. I still think they're endgame, but the making up process should've been more convincing. Also, Abby and Riley might deserve some rights.

I 100% agree with this. With that though, while it could definitely be argued that there should have been some more on screen making up, I don't think it would have fit the pacing of what was going on. That's why they cut to the year later with showing the engagement ring and being happily together. While it is obviously up for interpretation, I think they spent most of that year figuring out their relationship and building it up to be stronger than ever, and I'm sure Harper really worked hard to show Abby her love before Abby could actually propose to her. Like I said, I definitely agree that Abby shouldn't have forgiven Harper so quickly, but this is just my opinion, and I think that end kiss before the time jump was less of a "I completely forgive you" kiss and more of an "okay, I'm willing to try this again and keep being with you" kiss. 😁

@@atlas9859 Yeah, I know, it's a Chrismas rom-com, so we can't have too much angst, which is a shame, I kinda love angst tbh. And Abby was really patient with Harper when she was trying to hide them, so I think forgiving kinda fits her nature as well?. I'm glad Harper realized her mistakes and I do agree that they spent that one year working on their relationship, 'cause they were glowing after that and I'm happy for them.

A proposal right after that wouldn't be right and bc they showed us one year later, they zried to tell us: hey, they took their time, they figured it out and worked on themselves and THEN took another step in their relationship. An that's ladies how a healthy relationships function 😅
