I'm very late, but I just played it for the first time and I gotta say, this was way better than I expected it to be. I expected the gameplay to be badly designed and not have much substance, but it's actually very fun. I thought it wasn't going to be good because of the amount of reused sprites and music, but the gameplay absolutely makes up for this, it's so good. It feels like they actually wanted to make this game and had passion put into it, instead of just being a cashgrab spin-off that they forced themselves to make. Enter The Gungeon, the original game, is an absolute masterpiece, and I prefer it by a lot, that is absolutely clear. However, I feel like Exit The Gungeon is the best game it could be, and I am very happy it was released. I'd give Enter The Gungeon a 10/10 and I'd give Exit The Gungeon about an 8.5/10. Very good for a mobile spin-off.

I just played it for the first time, and honestly it feels a bit unfair to compare this fun chaotic spin-off designed mostly for mobile play, to the absolute masterpiece that was the original Enter The Gungeon. They're made with different purposes. I honestly think this is a way better outcome than a full serious sequel, I think the original is great as a standalone game, and a spin-off with a chaotic gameplay twist is the best way to get more Gungeon without ruining the experience by comparing the two games.
