Leave a comment down below and let me know if you have used the Exmark Commercial 30 S-Series or new X-Series mowers to mow wet grass?
@markbrisec39723 жыл бұрын
One small advice (although I know you probably know it and did it accidentally).. Engaging blades should be done by pulling the lever slowly. Otherwise you can kill the engine (OK you can start it again), but you're risking major damage on the transmission system.. Otherwise, great mower, although still a bit to expensive for my lawn care.. I'm sticking to my used Honda 21" and Toro TimeMaster...

If you are cutting weekly, you will have no problem. When the grass is a little taller it will clump under the deck

Ok I will see. Lots of opportunity here for testing mowing wet grass and times of year where it grows 6 inches a week and is thick and lush. Thanks for watching.

@matt james yup it’s ridiculous. With all the rain and warmer spring weather. Throw in some fertilizer and it’s crazy. Luckily it’s short lived though as the fertilizer effects wear after 2-3 weeks.

Nice cut bro, next time could you show 2 week yard? Wet & tall like. What I call real world yards

So I’m going tomorrow to trade in my cub cadet 33 in for the S series tomorrow. This is to begin my journey into starting a lawn care business! I’ve been making money for someone else for 20 years and it’s time I do it on my own! Thanks for the review sir and appreciate the videos you do. Be safe out there.

Awesome. Congratulations!! The Exmark commercial 30 is at a whole different level than the cub cadet. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for showing us this new mower! I'm debating on getting a 36in walk behind hydro or one of these as my next mower in the fleet! These videos are very informative

I appreciate the feedback. A 36” hydro walk behind like the Turf Tracer I have is a awesome machine. Probably the most versatile mower made. I’ve only been using this 30 for a few days but it might end up being my main mower. Thanks for watching.

The Timemaster has been my 30” for about 5 years now. However I’m on my third one and still have number two. They both run but the ware and tear is obviously not meant for the Timemaster. I don’t see spending a grand more is worth it though. Great video

Watch my long term review video on this mower after two years. I’d say it’s worth it. I use it everyday day and am still on the original belts. Thanks for watching.

I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s terrible on wet lawns. I do love it though!! I’m hoping to purchase a 36” Walk behind Toro pro line.
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess4 жыл бұрын
I keep hearing that they are no good in wet lawns. Weird that this one at least right now seems no different than a 21 in the wet. Maybe as it gets older and belts stretch or in taller wet grass, I’ll have to wait and see. A 36” hydro walk behind is a great asset for any lawn care business. Most versatile mower there is. Thanks for watching.

The commercial 30 is a beast! You also need to look into ybravo mowers. I use them in wet irrigated lawns that are wet every day and it’s amazing. The bag is huge and the cut is great!

Ok interesting. I did look into them but there is only one tiny little dealer that is far away that carries them. Thanks for watching.

I’ve ran the Exmark Commercial 30 S Series for several years. Overall I’ve been very impressed with its performance. Stripes 100X better than any 21” and it’s fun. My only complaint of it is the engine is under powered at times if I don’t keep the blades sharpen and wet grass definitely collects up under the deck to an extreme level at times. Overall great 9/10 mower in my opinion. I just always tell people don’t compare it to a Commercial 36” because we are not dealing with a 15 HP engine, not the same class.
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess4 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly. The 30 is awesome for what it is. But like you said it’s not going to compete with what a 36 can do with a 15hp engine. Thanks for watching.

Unfortunately I just got the mower so just working with what I got. Grass is starting to slow down as we head into summer. Also depends on the lawn and timing of the weather. I filmed myself cutting another one yesterday that was tall and thick. It happened to be sunny though. Thanks for watching.

Is it okay to cut customers grass in the rain or after rain ? I was under the assumption it was not healthy for grass thanks love watching your channel.
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess3 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s fine. Just more work and can be a lot more messy. I bag most lawns so it still leaves a great looking cut even in the rain. Might be an issue if you side discharge or mulch though. Thanks for watching.

Can I ask how loud that mower is? I'm looking at a mower with that motor and I can't really get a feel for how loud the motor is.
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess4 жыл бұрын
I don’t know the actual decibels but I can tell you it depends on the mower. This same engine on the commercial 21 mower is quieter. Not that the engine itself is louder but just that on the bigger 30 there two blades and belts and pulleys that add to the overall noise. The 30 inch version is considerably louder than the 21 version. Thanks for watching.
@CTSCAPER4 жыл бұрын
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess Thanks. It looks like a sweet mower.
@joeraptor13 жыл бұрын
Due to the weight of the mower, do you find it ruts on lawns especially those that are soft and wet? Thanks
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess3 жыл бұрын
No actually. I was surprised by that. It does better in not rutting than a typical Honda commercial 21” mower for example. The exmark 30 has wider tires and they are not rigid like the Honda but rather they are like semi pneumatic feeling. That coupled with the belt driven transmission that lets you feather the self propel makes the unit very easy on soft turf. Thanks for watching.

The real test is mulching in the rain
@elephantom124 жыл бұрын
If you ever do a lawn with taller dry grass and you use that 30" on it can you update us on if it bogs down? I've read from quite a few people that the Kawi is underpowered on the 30 in slightly taller grass. They came out with a Kohler 30" that is more powerful but these 30's are crazy expensive here in Alberta at $3150 pre tax for that kawi version and $3400 for the kohler. Thanks
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess4 жыл бұрын
I just filmed a video today of it mowing a taller thicker lawn. Look for it in the next few days. Thanks for watching.
@RedRockMaintenance4 жыл бұрын
Hey Juilo, I had the Toro Turf Master years ago and hated it. We always mulched with it and no matter what condition it had no power. Do you always bag with the Exmark? Or have you tried the mulching to see how it works that way? Good video.
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess4 жыл бұрын
I always bag every lawn. The only time I consider mulching is in the summer months. I’ll see if I can do some mulching videos with it. Thanks for watching.

Would you recommend this for a small lean business start up or a used 36”?
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess3 жыл бұрын
It would depend on the lawns you service. If you can fit a hydro walk behind like the turf tracer on all your properties than I would get that. If you have properties that a 36 would not fit in then the 30 is a great choice. Thanks for watching.
@kevinbrooks11043 жыл бұрын
@@LawnCareBusinessSuccess get the turf tracer I think you will be happier because if ,like me the 30 fails then you got the world promised and mine did , I had to spend another 2500 to buy another one, because they had to do warranty work on the s series, if you decide to get the 30 pay a little more and get the x series

What’s the best way to store the mower. Is it only upright does the top fold?
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess4 жыл бұрын
No, Sorry I haven’t seen a true commercial quality mower from any manufacturer that has folding handles. That creates a weak point in durability. Commercial mowers are designed to be used all day long, everyday. Not sitting in storage. So they do take up more space unfortunately. Thanks for watching.
@GamerGee4 жыл бұрын
Lawn Care Business Success another question. Do they ship assembled, I ask as I’m interested in that model but I only have a sedan but I don’t know of anyone locally who have the same meet types. My commercial friends only have the sit down zero turns and not any walk behinds
@LawnCareBusinessSuccess4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure how they come from the factory. When you go to the equipment dealer they are ready to work. Not sure if they come in boxes for shipping and require final assembly by the dealer. Toro makes a residential version of this mower called the time master sold at dealers and stores like Home Depot. I believe it has a folding handle. It shares the same deck as the commercial version but that’s about it. Everything else on it is light duty. That residential version would come in a box for sure I believe.
@GamerGee4 жыл бұрын
Lawn Care Business Success true. I have a toro residential 21. But it doesn’t cut as good as a commercial 30 from the videos. I want to purchase one because the 30s cut better on the at Augustine and bahaia without the grass clippings chocking below nor does it cut as high as the commercial mower at 5 inches

If it’s a 2020 how come it doesn’t have the new motor ?

Because it’s an s-series. The new Kohler engine is on the x-series. But now for 2021 the s-series is now discontinued and you can only get the x-series with two different engine options. The same Kawasaki engine that’s on mine or the Kohler. Thanks for watching.
