Hello Mike, Just a quick comment to say, you live in a nice piece of the world. Hope you have many more years of cutting. This reminds me, I need to cut grass at my mum's. I lot less than you need to do but it still needs done. . Hoyer you, your mum and family are safe and well during these uncertain times.

It looks more like you are mowing a golf course than cutting grass. When I mow my discharge chute looks like a 4 row forage harvester blowing the grass out! lol The tweels do make the mower ride a lot better of course a good suspension seat helps too. The new Z9xxR Deere mowers with the tweels ride and handle real good, but yeah they are 12k

I'm planning to build my own tractor with mostly non ag related parts. I plan to make it hydrostatic drive. The rear axle is from a Hyster electric forklift. The front axle is from a Toro reel mower and it was rear hydraulic steering, moved to the front of Mine. The engine is a Kubota gas 3 cylinder 18 hp, and very dependable.

Quite a few zero turn mowers up here have “tweels ” on them now to make the ride a lot better. Airless goofy looking tires.

Hiya, that charging issue you mention is a common problem on various lawn equipment. Regulators pop, often because of bad grounding, and batteries can be an issue. I don't have any Exmark, but this usually an engine issue is the same across Kohler, Briggs, Honda, etc..., not really specific to the tractor brand. I have had failure in regulators on various engine types, and once I had an alternator failure, melted because of a shorted regulator. My fix is a dedicated ground strap attached directly to the regulator case, commonly in the mounting hardware. Kohler's often have this problems with engine cover regulators, where the cover is plastic. and there is no path to ground. Even when the regulator is mounted on a metal surface, like on many Briggs, all the vibration can make for a weak ground. I have had mowers with bad regulators but good batteries last most of a season. There is no way your batteries should discharge as fast as you say unless you have a ground fault somewhere. Please check the regulator and see about adding a dedicated ground strap to the regulator. This trick has fixed so many bad battery, poor charging issues for me. FYI I have three tractors right now, all John Deere L series, all with dedicated 10 gage ground straps I made that directly ground the regulator case. All three have not needed a regulator for at least three years. All three were just started this month for the first time this season, and I did not have to charge any of the batteries. All three sat through winter here in the northeast, and all three have batteries that are roughly three years old as well. Every time I hear about a friend with a charging problem on his tractor, I get a new battery, a new regulator, and about 18" of 10 gage stranded wire, with a green jacket of course. So far, aside from the melted alternator (which I also replaced when I found it) every machine has not had any regulator failures and have no problem keeping the batteries charged. HTH

I have same machine like this and wen a run out gas and switch thanks my machine don’t want to start crank and crank and dint start after an hour any idea what is that problem

@@Purosanluispotosi sounds like a carb shutoff solenoid to me, or the circuit feeding it. You will find it attached to the bottom of the float bowl of your carburetor with wiring attached. I have seen, 1, 2, and 3 wire setups, so it depends. I assume you have fuel and spark. Confirm fuel is at the carb and that you have spark in the plugs. If the solenoid fails, it will stay closed, the plunger seals off the bottom of the main jet. They also get stuck. On occasion, the solenoid will fail electrically open. Result in all three cases is no fuel. You should hear a click in the carb when you power on the tractor (but not start it). If you don't hear that solenoid pull up, check the circuit first. The system is normally closed, blocking fuel. When energized, the solenoid pulls a plunger, allowing fuel flow. Checking the wiring, you should see key on power at the solenoid. If you do not, find the fault. It is not uncommon that the circuit that feeds it is also the safety circuit connected to all of the safety switches, such as seat, brake/start lockout etc. This is not always the case, but however the circuit is setup, if there is no key-on power, the solenoid will not operate. If you have power, but the solenoid does not operate, then it is either open or gummed up and stuck. In a pinch, if you don't have a replacement solenoid, you can use a bowl retaining bolt. Care must be taken in this case if you dont have one handy. In one case, I had a failed open solenoid, in the middle of a job, and I really needed to finish. Once I realized the solenoid had failed open, and I did not have a spare solenoid, or a spare bowl bolt, or a reasonable facsimile. I removed the solenoid from the carb, tested it electrically, and confirmed it did not work. Like I said, I needed to finish, so I broke off the plunger tip with a pair of pliers, and then put the solenoid back into the carb. It ran fine till I was able to get the replacement solenoid, and I was able to finish the job. So even if the solenoid has failed, you have a few options until you can get a replacement.

@@WilliamTMusil because I put starter fluid and start and after 2 minutes stop and never start I put it in my trailer whit that winch and after 3 hours I take of that spark plug clean it and start whit no problems I try like 4 times and start each but last week I run out gas I full that left thank and dint start for a few minutes after later so I’m going to se wath hapen tomorrow but thank u very much for ur help
@WilliamTMusil3 жыл бұрын
@@Purosanluispotosi ah, then it might be fuel. It would not have started on it's own later if the solenoid was bad. Pull the fuel line at the carb and hold it in a container and have somebody crank it. If fuel is not coming out generously, check the lines, fuel filter, and the fuel pump. Since you said you ran it out of fuel, the tank invariably has a little debris in it, and it may have plugged the filter. Without a filter, any debris can foul the fuel pump. Lastly anything plugging the fuel line would also be bad. HTH

As much sand as you have, I’m surprised it doesn’t just eat blades on a regular basis, faster than every 3 weeks. The sand eating through the deck would be my next concern.... My soil is about the same, lots of sand.

I would cut it an 1 inch or 2 higher then you do. The blades would last longer. The sand doesn't do as much damage. When you cut it low like a golf course it reall makes sand fly. Most lawn grass likes 3 inchs or taller. Just saying.
