Everything I've ever seen was that the choking tears was *NOT* originally part of the scene, and his stance with his hands on his waist & the way he covered his mouth to try and swallow it is very much like the one other time he really broke down crying on stage; I've seen that even the kiss his gave the actress on the forehead wasn't scripted(?), but he did it to try and swallow like a sob down. This particular performance (which was a Korean production of Singing in the Rain btw) happened right when the dating scandal between him & Taeyeon came out & during the peak of the really negative backlash the two got; fans & fansites for each of them left, really horrible things were said about them with some of it being shouted directly to their faces, and people thought it might ruin them & their groups... That's why it says "2014 flashbacks" when the guy brings up girlfriends (in your reaction 11:49); in the broadcast, Baekhyun goes on to jokingly/warningly say he's "sensitive" about that subject~ [2014 was when the dating scandal broke]

I’ve been a Baekhyun bias for 6 years..and even during their trainee days...and i never regretted loving him this long coz, he never failed to give a smile on my face,..our Bobohu is so precious..i wouldnt mind spending millions for him...it’s nothing compared to how he gave color unto my life.. I LOVE Scarlet Heart Ryeo. I watched it before I even knew who Baekhyun was, and watching that and hearing the song EXO-CBX did for it ("For You," which is playing in this video when the clips of SHR are shown) is what brought me to EXO and then the bigger world of K-pop. Since his ending on the show is given away here, I will say that I full-on ugly cried during that scene. He (and Lee Joon Gi) did a fabulous job in the scene, but I was snot-bubble crying. Yes to that incident with the sasaeng trying to hit Suho in the face and Baek angrily responding. I do not blame him at all. Those sasaengs are nuts and give real fans a bad name. They are dangerous, too. They hack idols, stalk them, threaten to harm themselves for them. Years ago, Yunho from TVXQ was even poisoned by one and he had to have his stomach pumped. And the song at 8:49 is "White Noise." It's one of my favorites.

dating in korea is considered a scandal bc they’re considered “idols” who fans look up to and has to be perfect at all times. so they aren’t viewed as humans who have feelings but rather idols are supposed to have a “fantasy” image and never date bc that would make them lose their female fans who are “in love” with them. that’s why most idol’s contracts have a no dating policy on it (take hyuna for example: she was a huge star in korea that brought most of the money into her company and when news broke out she was dating someone, her label cancelled all her activities and dropped her within a week). so when ppl found out Baekhyun was dating Girl’s Generation leader Taeyeon they were pissed bc girl’s generation is a legendary girl group and taeyeon is older than baek. then the fans started connecting the dots from their instagrams and saw that they would have matching couple things like headphones or rings and post it on ig sneakily in the backgrounds of the pics and that pissed his fans off more. when taeyeon would go to the airport baekhyun‘s fans would yell at her and try to hurt her. it got too hard for them that eventually they broke up bc of the fans. in exo’s most recent reality show, all the members said that baekhyun plays computer games all day and never leaves their dorm. i think that scandal has a lot to do with it bc baekhyun’s personality is really bright and outgoing so i think naturally he would go out the house more but he doesn’t bc he’s more cautious now.
