Some ppl dont even realize and dont know it is offensive until other ppl pointed it out. Honestly i don't know too, i learn from social medias, internet. Its a new knowledge for me. Same goes to Chen i guess. He is a sweet guy and I hope fans can educate him, tell him what he did was wrong.

It's just the culture difference, many people in the world just don't know they are saying/doing something that may hurt others, they just can't know, because they are living in a different culture with different lifes and problems. Chen and the rest of EXO members as well are kind and generous, always trying to help others, humble even if they are popular and down to Earth, they are not bad people, for example in my country we say a lot of racist stuff (like comparing skin colour or body parts to other people), but we don't mean it in any bad way, it's just a saying you know? It's not a big deal, I know many people were hurt by what he said, biut he didn't realize it was bad and it wasn't mean with any bad intention.. Regarding Chen's issue: THIS WILL BE LONG, sorry! Asian countries like mine are unfortunately ignorant on most racist Stuff. People sometimes are being racist to us and we don't even know about it. Imagine you're an Asian without knowledge of anything related to blacks or any culture aside from yours since we don't really study anything about the history of other culture and I think most whites and blacks too. I'm gonna give an example and take note I'm not part of all of this since I knew better now and I'm trying to educate as many people as I can even my family Including mental health issues. It's sad that it's takes for me to stan a K-pop artist before I knew any of this. Anyways: People on our country tease people here that have tan skin up to this date and it's acceptable, most of us have bronze/brown skin. we still make jokes about arab, Indian, Chinese and blacks. And most jokes are racist like the way they talk, the way they dressed even on national TV. People here still tease about weight. People still do black face And joke about being too black/burnt. We have slang words for blacks (Negro, nognog, uling (coal), etc) if we are joking with friends that are too dark even for a Filipino. What Chen said was a slang word that was used by Koreans. For ex, when someone got big ears they used Yoda or dumbos ears. For lips, Angelina Jolies lips, and what Chens said was the same as that. Again the issue of most Asians including Chens was ignorance. Noticed that it was not a big issue in Korea and most Korean non-fans just shrugged it off as well. Even EXO haters didn't hyped it on naver. This is non-issue for them which is again saddens me since this should be known by even celebs there. But they won't know since EXO especially Chen don't use social media so he won't see all the comments and Korean fans don't care about it, so they won't educate Chen.. sigh..

Just to add, when you try to tell people to study about the black culture or any other culture they will just laugh at you, becoz why would they study about it? They will ask you if other countries studied about Filipino and of course I will say no, i lost that argument already, which is somewhat true tbh. If we will study about other peoples history and culture, and a lot of people from the west assumed that asian countries should know about blacks or whites, should we also assume that you guys know about our culture as well. Another argument from one of my friend was, we’re a third world country, we got a lot if internal issues, internal war (like real war inside our country), corruption, drugs, prostitution, uneducated citizens and millions of poor people, she said that our country dont have time to study about other culture and their past hardships and their everyday struggle as a race becoz our country is busy looking for food to feed our people and money to make children to come to school. Which is another good argument that I lost..
