a funny fact: in one of the superM shows, they were asked to talk about each other. kai was talking about Mark ( a member of superM and NCT) ... he said i like him becaouse he reminds me of my exo member kyungsoo. and i really love kyungsoo. I grew up listening to Western RnB and Pop music and everyone was goin crazy on KPOP. I started checking out Blackpink because of their upbeat and catchy songs. I was into BP and got curious on that Jennie's ex. I searched on YT and the first recommended video was their Love Shot Melon performance. Instead of Kai catching my attention with his bare chest, I got curious on who that guy was singing with a different vocal texture that I haven't heard in other groups, so RnB. I found myself searching for EXO next leaving BP behind (lol). That's when I found out that he is also a critically-acclaimed actor and the kDrama I loved almost a year ago has him as lead actor (currently Korea's 9th highest rated kdrama of all time). During their early debut days, he's referred to as EXO's frontman by old Korean articles until he decided to take the acting route as a side gig and became known as Doh Kyungsoo. They debuted in 2012 but their name soared in 2013, thanks to Growl, however critics and antifans claimed they were just a bunch of good looking boy without real talents. Therefore, their agency decided to let them sing Black Pearl, Overdose and a solo performance of Tell Me What is Love by D.O. in MAMA 2014 (Korean music award), which solidify their image that they can truly sing. Chen & Baek are the best in high vocals and D.O does runs and adlibs like it's no one else's business. A known music producer from the West is one who stated he's literally from another planet (possibly meaning not from Korea, to not sound offensive),as his type of vocals are not common in KPOP unlike Chen's and Baek's (some Got7 vocalists got the same skills).

To really see why D.O has earned so many acting accolades and why he is considered one of the top actors in the industry, you should check out Anitra's Say What Reacts video she created called "Do Kyungsoo (D.O.) D.O. is actually known for his more serious roles. He is amazing when it comes to playing characters with complex storylines and personalities. One of my favorite K-dramas is "Hello Monster"/"I Remember You" where D.O. plays a sicopath killer. (D.O. only appears in the first half of that show because he plays the younger version of one of the main characters, but the whole cast is amazing in that show and it's worth checking out if you haven't seen it yet.) That video will show you just how good of an actor he really is and why he has won so many awards for his acting. D.O. is one of the top actors in Korea and because of a role in an upcoming movie, he enlisted in the military early to get it out of the way, so that he would be free to star in the project. It says something about D.O. as an actor, that the director was willing to wait almost 2 years to start shooting the film just to give D.O. time to take care of his duty to his country so he would be available for filming later on without any interruptions. D.O didn't just shave his head because he wanted to, it was for the international movie "Swing Kids" where he played a North Korean prisoner of war during the Korean War in the 1950s. So he had that short haircut for several months while filming that movie. And then right after that he enlisted in the military, so he didn't grow his hair out because he has to keep it short while in the military as well. "Swing Kids" was why he learned to tap dance. His character joins a dance troupe in the prison camp and they happen to be tap dancers. So, D.O. learned to tap dance for that role. As an actor, if you want to be known as an actors actor and be given accolades for your work, you want to take roles in projects that have you evoking powerful emotions that really show off your acting chops. Although the light-hearted, fun stuff is great, its not what most people really pay attention to and it usually doesn't win awards. Its those powerful full depth roles with lots of complexities that makes people really pay attention to you as an actor and makes you a household name that directors and production companies remember and its what gets them to seek you out and write roles specifically with you in mind, etc. So D.O. is much more known for his serious roles full of drama and emotion.

Let me also add, his hairstyle is mostly decided by his current kdrama or movie character. He had buzzcut in 2017 to film Swing Kids (a big budget movie) thus the cap he's wearing in that video for The Eve performance in Soribada awards. He let his hair grew back for most of 2018 (he was filming 100 Days my Prince), then he had to go buzzcut again to enlist in the military (which got people mad as he still had 2 yrs more to delay his enlistment). Rumour has it that he'll take the lead for Along with the Gods 3 (installment to AWTG 1 & 2 which are two of the top grossing Korean films), so he's probably not gonna grow his hair long to continue with his role (he only had support role in 1 & 2).

I love the movie Along with the Gods and the part 2 along with the Gods:49 days..he acts as a camio i think but his acting is superb.. specially ung part 2, the 49 days and at the end its hinting another film which is part 3 with D.O as the main actor and the story will all be about him... The doc told me I was lucky bcs I had round eyes and mild astigmatism. Many slightly worse cases have eyes that look like the mountains of the moon so contacts could not form good suction. They;d be like those spinning plates on sticks. Eyes are also not straight. Specs/contacts can make your eyes work so they straighten but obviously DO's refuse to comply. My bro kind of has that scowl too. Someone asked which of 2 kpop singers people preferred DO or another globally famous one and played samples of bravura vocals, I decided I could listen to DO all night but only listen to the other on shuffle in the day, tho I don't in fact listen to much music, Just watch mainly bcs I don't like BGM. nice rxn.
