Fyi, in that video there's no Kai. The one that wearing hat is Lay. in every lotto live stage, if there is a lay there is no kai. If there is, there will be no lay. they are both in the same position for the choreography. Correct me if i'm wrong.

You might notice that in some live TV network performance of "Lotto" that they change the title of the song to "Louder" and the lyrics are changed to use the word louder instead of lotto as well. Gambling is frowned upon in Korean culture and it's one of those things that are band from mainstream media. So in order to make the song TV- and radio-friendly they had to change everything to "Louder." Also, if you notice, you don't see Kai dancing in the MV or live performance. Lay and Sehun are the main dancers in "Lotto." Kai was injured during this time and couldn't dance. I think you mistakenly called Lay, Kai. I can see how you might have made that mistake because Lay took over as the main dancer where you are used to seeing Kai, and you just made the mistake of thinking the main dancer must be Kai. :D As I think I mentioned before in your "Monster" reaction, most agree that "Lotto" is the prequel to "Monster." "Monster" and "Lucky One' are from EXO's EX'act album and "Lotto "is from their EX'act repackaged album. So, to understand the story in "Lotto" and "Monster" you have to connect the two storylines. How I interpret things is that the story starts in "Lotto" as EXO goes in undercover and works to take down the gambling ring, which is thought to probably be run by the Red Force. and now that we know about EXO's clones, maybe even X-EXO are involved. I think the two stories in both "Lotto" and "Monster" actually overlap. I think both MVs take place in the same location and around the same time frame, and in each MV you see the members in different moments as they try to destroy everything to do with this gambling ring. You see them breaking everything in both MVs and you see them smash the car in "Lotto" and in "Monster" you see the car has now been set on fire, and they burn the money and other things in "Lotto as well, etc. At the end of "Lotto" you see the cops have come in and are just starting to take the members into custody, but if you remember in "Monster" it shows all the members have now been arrested. So I see it as the fight starts in "Lotto" and continues in "Monster." At the end of "Monster" all the members were now in custody and Baekhyun rescues them as he releases them from the back of the police van allowing them to escape, etc. Also, if you remember in "Obsession," EXO are the members in all black and X-EXO are the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy makeup and hair. If you notice, in "Monster" the members are all in black, and in "Lotto" they are pretty much in black or dark neutral colors, so that is why I think both MVs are depicting the story from EXO's point of view, not X-EXO. So, I think what we are watching are the EXO members trying to take down X-EXO and the Red Force and stop the evil and corruption that the Red Force is inflicting on the world which is depicted here as corruption through illegal gambling. We are not really sure what the girl takes from him at the end of "Lotto", but it definitely wasn't money. If you pay attention to the lyrics, one of the English lines is, "I don't need no money." That is why they burn the huge stack of cash. Most theories agree that what EXO are collecting are flowers. There is an overwhelming use of flowers in many of their MVs, and as you see in "Love Shot," for example, they aren't collecting money but flowers. And in "Hey Mama" and Blooming Day" and "Love Me Right", etc. you see them with flowers. My theory is that the girl is somehow connected to EXO's quest to find and protect the Tree of Life and that is why at the end of "Lotto" you see her secretly take something (whether it be a note, a cassette tape or something else) to somehow help them in their quest. Its still unclear at this point how she fits in the storyline, but I think, or at least I hope, that in the future we will discover more about her and where she fits within the story. Some say the "girl" that EXO is always singing about and you sometimes see in their MVs -- like in "Lotto" -- is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life and that is why the members are always rescuing or protecting the girl, etc. And why all their songs are about being in love with a girl or being controlled by the power of the girl, such as in "Overdose" for example. Or how they talk about knowing they are bad news for the girl but they want her anyway and they can't help it, but in the end they know they might destroy her -- as they say in "Monster," etc. etc. When you think of the girl as the heart of the Tree of Life the mystery begins to unfold even more. It's been more than 3 years since either of these MVs came out and i have seen them dozens of times, and each time I watch them I still see something different and try to unravel more clues. But "Lotto" and "Monster" are the two EXO MVs that have me the most confused. And I am still struggling to really grasp the full story they are trying to tell. Part of the reason for that is the fact that I think these two MVs depart the most from the linear storyline and the story jumps back and forth between the two MVs so much that I struggle to put the events in order in my mind to really make a clear picture.

There is a video of one of their live performances where they’re all standing behind a huge white paper that came up to their shoulders. They’re changing clothes behind it and the paper is somewhat translucent. The paper malfunctioned ripping in two and you get a nice view of Chen with no shirt. He has a tee shirt thrown over his shoulder and tries to use it to cover up, but finally goes with moment. 😘. NICE!!! I’ll bet some of the commentators on this site could tell you where to find it.

seems like someone is getting a bit bias wrecked by yixing hehe ;) Lotto is the only cb they promoted as 8 and the 9th person missing wasnt yixing TT If you end up watching a more recent version of this song kai would be the person beginning the song instead of baekhyun, and he is center for the dance break instead of yixing (as well as sings his lines there). Although they were still promoting as 9 back in 2016 we actually have never gotten an ot9 performance of this song TT As kai was hurt at first, it wasnt included in the setlist of exordium (aka the tour they were on during the time) and the next time they performed this song yixing was unable to participate instead :( There's been one chance where all 9 of them attended the same event and they were performing, however at that time they did not have a 9 member version of the choreo and kai therefore sat out on the performance and what could've been an ot9 version of lotto never happened TT
