They say kpop idol groups are artificial, their music is contrived, and they've got very corporate & commercial music (aka it's inauthentic) To me, kpop is collaboration between best artists in their field: just look at that gorgeous choreo! Thanks to the talented producers and lyricists we've got this lovely masterpiece. No one person can come up with a combination of best music, choreo, presentation, and art direction to get the best of everything; to get something so immaculate. And it's all performed by the lovely & talented (as well as visual gods) EXO members. This is what Kpop is: a marriage of everything. And this is why SM is killing it!

3xitthissid3 lmao u say its a ‘collaboration’ between the company but kpop groups just sing what they’re given and dance what they’re taught. Thats y u call them idols not ‘artists’ because they dont make their own music or anything. And while they do have singing talent the songs they sing are dont even acknowledge and give credit it to the original people who come up with the music and choreo. A marriage of everything??? I think ur seriously mistaken.

@@trixieanime123 I'm not denying that the idols themselves don't have rights or control over the song - I'm just looking from the perspective of the song, itself. Yeah there were a few producers, composers, and lyricists who worked on it - on top of the dance choreographers, stage, light, and video directors, and hundreds of other people...totaling to maybe 200-500 people if not more. And in that sense, the finished product (including the music video and the dance routine) is very much a team effort. People overlook pop songs because it's made by 20 people instead of one; I'm just saying I appreciated the song and the product, despite that. I think it's a *good* song & performance despite that fact. As much as SM cares about making money, they also really care about the performance their idols put on - that's why they don't shy away from spending millions on American choreographers (as well as from other countries - making sure they get the best in their field) and on MV production. They're not stingy with those things because they care about their product & they want to put their best face forward. That's why their songs sound so smooth & the dance routines look so intricate. Even American R&B/Hip Hop singers who are known for dancing (ex: Usher, Chris Brown) don't have as much choreo in their MV or performance. SM is not giving you budget MVs and performances 90% of the time. They really do put on a show.

@@trixieanime123 No, they don't give credit to those who created the song or worked behind the scenes - and personally I'd loove to know who the choreographers & producers are. My post was about appreciating the work that was created by those people, whom are usually not acknowledged. No it's not SM who creates these masterpieces - but the people who work for SM. And while I'd hope SM would give them credit, I still love SM for giving the opportunity for these artist to create this piece of art. Just because it's done by people who work in the pop music industry, doesn't mean their creations aren't an art form ( the gorgeous choreo) or that it can't hold meaning (hello, BTS??). I also suggest you check out Henry's song Monster - he's one of the few SM idols that partook in the making of his music.
