Star Wars collaboration request came after this ElDorado stage and they delivered ‘Light Saber’. The lyrics and the metaphors of this song is so good. ‘El Dorado’ is the legendary ‘Golden City’ which no explorer could found. Exo is stating that they will sail through the hard sea, storms, and all kinds of obstacles to reach their golden state and will never fail who believed in them. The stage is set as the deck of a ship. When it’s EXO, every little detail has significance, and they are not just a boy band but performers of a long lasting true story.

I keep thinking Oasis is the spiritual successor of El Dorado. El Dorado is that uncertain journey, and Oasis is the destination they reached after all those years, not their final one but a stop. One cannot remain in an oasis for long, so they have to keep moving forward.

El Dorado is a mythical city made of gold. The Spanish conquers started the rumor of the city, after learning of the Indian king El Dorado who, according to the legend, was covered in gold. So what you saw as part of the background in this performance was in the beginning the golden gates of the city were there and as the performance went on the gates opened to reveal the mountain and SM's depiction of what they think the city might look like. That is why EXO was all in gold outfits and I think the lights they danced around were to represent objects they had to navigate through in their search for the city. At the end when they make the X with the light sticks its to represent the X in EXO, but its also to represent the X you would find on a treasure map that marks where the treasure would be. In the end X marks the spot and EXO is the treasure. LOL Explorers and Indiana Jones-type treasure hunters are always searching for the lost city of El Dorado thinking if they ever find it, it will be the key to riches and gold. Legends have it that its a magical city that can only be found by those who it wants to find it and some stories say it could have something to do with aliens or otherworldly beings. That's why this song works so well for EXO because EXO's origin story is that they are aliens from Planet EXO who came to Earth with superpowers in order to protect the mythical Tree of Life. That's why in this song some of the English lines are "got to go, go, go" ... "got to find, find, find ... El Dorado," etc. There have been several fictional movies made about the search for El Dorado and there even have been TV programs and documentaries, etc. about real life explorers who have searched for the city thinking they can prove it was a real place and, at least in part, the stories could be true. EXO's "EL Dorado" performance is also what has been said, inspired Disney to ask SM and EXO to produce the song and MV for "Lightsaber."

EXO as a whole includes its entire team. A team of extremely talented artists who equally matches their talents in delivering excellent music. Some of those artists only choose to work with EXO cause they believe only EXO can give justice to their songs. Not to brag but its true. I love this team. Its like they mix all time fave techniques and add modern techniques to create music. The designers, concept makers, choreographers, stylists.. everyone who make up EXO as a whole is amazing. What u have said are one some of the reasons why EXO Concert are to die for. EXO concert ticket buyinv is always a bloody battle wherein u need to fight over other million fans at the samd time. Attending EXO concert is just like attending a massive Music Fest with a Star-studded line up because they over u a diverse world of music, performance and experience. With diff genres, their discography, choreography, visuals, vocals, stage, diversity and versatility - they are a damn wholesome artist. BTW, Congratulations Jen! this concert happened when we didn't have official light sticks (eribong), you can see in the audience holding regular light sticks, anyway there's another performance of eldorado with normal-looking hair kai hha, and imo the camera work was better there.
