As much as I want a movie or something, my theory is that SM is just going to keep feeding us bits and pieces of the story with each new album just to keep our attention. Most of EXO's releases after this connect in some way or another to the original Mama story line, with the most obvious being the Exodus teaser videos, but it's just enough for fans to create their own theories and stories and not enough for us to 100% confirm what the real story actually is.

If we had the whole story then fans wouldn't have written so many stories based on these bits because they already have a whole story.. So just for further clarification Exo has 12 members, represented by the "12 forces" in the introduction. Them dividing into 2 separate but identical worlds is like how Exo is divided into 2 subunits: Exo-K and Exo-M, singing the same songs but in their respective languages Korean and Mandarin. The legend says the 2 worlds are going to meet each other and but will "stand on different grounds but see the same sky; see different skies but stand on the same ground" meaning how the 2 Exo subunits are now joining to become a whole Exo, but while still being 2 distinct units.

Exo had a convept of 2 halves (exo-k and exo-m) that combine into one (just exo 12 ppl) and they all have superpowers (we assume they are aliens) and if you watch exo-m version, you will see other 6 powers. You can look them up in the internet and lyrics to this is very deep

Im glad there's a lot of people at the comment section who discussed about their debut concept. That is the first and foremost important thing to learn when you're getting into kpop is their debut concept. They started out as 12 members that is divided into 2 subunits with supernatural powers. EXO-K and EXO-M. The introduction of MAMA basically describes it. They had alot of debut teasers that came along before this that you should check out including the EXODUS teasers which is more of a updated version. The EXODUS teasers describe each member using their super powers while going to different countries that spell out CALL ME BABY for their latest comeback.

Interesting fact: Right at the part at 4:50 where the fire wing appears, you can hear a female voice saying Thank You in Mandarin (xixieni or something). Exo members thinks it's a ghost, and they mentioned it in a talk show once. That voice/audio is not heard in the CD version, just in the MV. Spooky right?

AJ, Mama is a typical "SMP" song from EXO's company SM Entertainment (SME). I believe "SMP" stands for SM Music Performance.
