Lately I've seen so many Ot8 fans claiming that Lay only ever mentions Exo more nowadays because he's afraid of losing the fanbase he created thanks to Exo. Like seriously? China has the biggest fanbase in the world and Lay is the biggest star in China, does he really need to care about that stuff? He legit cried when he saw a tribute video of his time in Exo. Because of political situations its so hard for both him and Exo to mention each other but Lay still tries to pacify everyone about his love for his members. Chanyeol himself came to live with Lay and introduced themselves as Exo members and suggested to collaborate in future if situations are better, what more proof people want that they are still one group after all this time? This interactions is direct slap to those claiming to be Exo fans but refusing to accept all members.

I've seen a lot of haters claiming that lay only mentions exo here and there not to lose his exo-l fans and not because he really thinks he is exo member any more. This is the proof that they were completely wrong though. If that was the case, why would chanyeol bother to show up in his live and chat with him and say things like we are one? It means exo members truely believe in lay still being one of the members. They don't think that he doesn't care about exo anymore and that he uses it just as a promotion. They still want and accept lay as one of the members. It's just SM doesn't let them interact more than this I guess.

It took me some time to wrap my mind around Lay not being active in exo's comebacks and promos, but I know in my heart that the members cherish each other and support each others' paths. I used to follow Lay's solo stuff more, but there were definitely some challenges due to language barriers and availability of content here. I love EXO so much. I would love to see them stay together and keep doing group comebacks even with separate agencies like Got7 has pioneered. If Got7 can do it, make it happen and make it work with 7 members in different companies, schedules, agents and management... then as an EXO-L/Ahgase, I believe with all my heart that EXO can do it too if they really want to. They would have to plan in advance like say "okay guys, lets all reserve from March to October next year for a group comeback and promotion". Then everyone can book things and stay busy or rest until then. I have hope for EXO to do it because Got7 has proven to the world it can be done against all odds.

How about when Chanyeol immediately tried to lure Lay into introducing themselves as EXO together, it was clear that Chanyeol's goal was to show us all that Lay is still a member of EXO, even though it's not yet clear that they can CB OT 9.
