5:32 this stage is still so painful to watch, it remind me of the pain kyungsoo had to endure that day.. He injured his ankle so bad but tried his best not to show it because he didn't want to distract the other members or ruin the stage.. He sang his lines flawlessly and danced for the whole performance but if you watch the other fancams you will see his expression when the cameras weren't on him.. He was rly hurt.. And he couldn't be there after the performance when the members received their award.. The next day he showed up with crutches, he smiled so brightly and waved to the fans at the airport cause he didn't want anyone to worry. Kyungsoo is such an angel 😭❤

🚨SOME FACTS ABOUT THESE MAMA PERFORMANCES: 2013 •Kyungsoo actually injured his right foot during the first part of the perf. If you look closely how he danced, he didn't put a lot of weight on his right foot and mostly stepped with his left one. •It started with a vcr like how they usually start a performance. (It's always better to watch the vcr first because of course, it's connected to the performance) 2016 •It also started with a vcr, of course. And the start of the perf on this video isn't actually the start of their actual performance. They actually had a lot of backup when they entered/started lol. •Chen didn't decide to take his jacket off because he just wanted to, his pants ripped of that's why he tied it around his waist. (Poor Chen kkkkkk) •Kai's accessory on his neck was green because it was just broken he said. Lmao •When Sehun took off the thing on his neck and threw it, it actually hit a fan's face in the crowd. (Poor fan, I won't complain if I was her tho as long as it's EXO 😂) Lastly..... •The part where Baekhyun opened his top was supposed to be really cool only if it wasn't a fail. There was a thing sticked to his chest that was supposed to be lit up once he opens his top during the perf. But due to his sweat, the object fell off and didn't work. You can see how it fell on the stage while he was dancing. (It was when the light was white. I'm sorry I couldn't give the time stamp hehehehe. You may browse his instagram acc so you can see how the object on his chest looks like. The makeup was awesome. How I wish it worked out or maybe he can repeat the perf with it working. That'd be really lit)

As I remember, For the mama 2016 Baekhyun had something glued on his chest (where heart is). It was like a silver circle reminding a machine or robotic thing and he supposed to open his shirt (whole chest) during his solo and show that he is something like a robot( actually idk, I forgot). Unfortunately, it came out during Transformer or monster because of hard choreography and sweat, so we lost that...sad, but still the performance is fire! in MAMA 2016. There's a VCR before their perf. You need to see it before watching the perf to understand the storyline. And Kai's light is green because it's not functioning well. Ang during Baek's solo, when he open his shirt he's actually supposed to reveal his mechanical heart ( indicating that he's not human). But it malfunctioned because of his sweat, you can actually see it dropped and rolling away when he opened his shirt. This performance will be more epic if only the devices didn't malfuntioned and if the camera work was better. Urghhh... Good thing EXO are great performers.

EXO was fron Japan they went straight to the venue for Mama 2016 in Hongkong. They didnt have time to rehearse they were only told the flow of the perfs. They were the last to perform and that gave them time to mentally do a quick rundown of their stage formation. One of the mcs said he saw Suho in a bathroom shaving.

I’m always so proud of EXO’s ability to adapt and overcome any situation, but it still hurts to know that a member is performing injured. 2016 MAMA is one of my favorite ones ever. I love the entire stage. If you get the chance to on your own, you should try to watch the VCR that played before EXO’s performance. It makes it even more powerful.

What really impresses me about the 2016 MAMA performance was that the night before that, they had a concert in Japan. They left after that and flew to Hong Kong where MAMA was taking place. They practiced and edited the choreo to fit the stages and pretty much had little to no sleep before it was time for the red carpet. They're so tired (You can actually see Chanyeol when he was doing the spinning on the ground during monster look like he's in pain he's so tired) from having almost no rest immediately after a concert. They're such professionals of the highest standard, and while I'm angry that SM should scheduled things so close like that, I'm constantly blown away by their work ethic! Edit: Also funny you say that Suho belongs on broadway, because he was actually in a couple of musicals!

As usual loved your reaction....and this is just TMI....in Mama 2013 Growl and Wolf part, Kyungsoo actually twisted his ankle pretty bad while jumping from those benches they climbed up in the very beginning so the entire performance he had to bear that pain....it was pretty bad actually, he couldn't be with his members on stage when they received their daesang and memebers later siad he collapsed as soon as the stage got over backstage. The next day he showed up in crutches in the airport and everyone was heartbroken. Despite being in such pain, he performed so wonderfully...true dedication..you said that Kyungsoo sometimes seem like he doesn't want to dance or something but Kyungsoo is really passionate about being an idol and being a member of EXO and if you see the fancams you will realize how good of a dancer he actually is.... And this part will be funny 😂....the reason why Jongdaeddy took off his jacket is because while performing transformer his pants got torn😂😅 but if you see the fancam you will see how much of a pro he really is....it didn't even take him 1 second to think of taking his jacket off and tying it around his waist and perform like nothing happened. Really, hats off EXO's professionalism. They give their all to all the performances and never let anything stop them from giving their best.

Looking back at MAMA 2013, who would have thought that they were still a rookie at that time and yet they performed like they"ve been in the industry for a longer time. EXO's stage are always on another level even if it's only an award show, you can feel like it's their own concert. In MAMA 2016, I have read that they just came from their concert (from another country) and have to rehearse from backstage that's why you see Minseok running and the cameraman didn't know where to focus cuz they didn't have time to rehearse with the crew and Jongdae's pants ripped so he has to tie his jacket around his waist. Will await for your another EXO live stages and concert reaction(Exoplanet series) and can't wait for EXO's comeback in the latter part of November and it's Channie's birthday soon.

There was a VCR that played right before Transformer, it kinda put the performance in context. They were supposed to be enslaved humans (hence the collars) in a futuristic sort of society, idk. So that kinda goes along with the whole SeKai dance (where they throw away their collars, representing a sort of "freedom") and the ending Baekhyun dance where he was supposed to reveal his robotic heart (but we didn't get to properly see it in the performance). So he was basically half-human, half-robot, IDK.

Hey, Mama! Since you’re going to react to their 2nd concert next, just thought I should let you know - Lay was in EXO’luxion in Seoul but was absent from EXO’luxion in Japan. The thing is that the one in Japan has SO MUCH better camera angles and camera transition. No joke, there were times I got dizzy watching the one in Seoul because they often change from one angle to another in .1 second! lol. But that may be just me. And Jongin has TRAGIC hairdo in the first few songs during the Seoul one haha. But if you can bear with those, I guess Seoul is a better choice because- OT9!! Or if you’re okay with Yixing showing up only in VCR’s, then the Japan one is better. Both versions are great nonetheless! Anyway, I’m (and pretty sure the other pilbugs too) okay with any version. Just a heads-up for you. Haha ^^

MAMA 2016 just shows how talented these boys are because there were SOOOO many complications. First of all, they just flew in from their tour and only had like an hour to practice this whole stage. That's why the camera doesn't focus on who's singing, the crew didn't have time to plan it out with them there. Chen's pants ripped so he tied his jacket around his waist. oh my god, so much happened during these perf especially 2016. MAMA has always been unlucky for them physically, someone gets hurt or something goes wrong. in 2013 one Kyungsoo hurt his ankle as soon as the perf started but he kept going anyway and then went to the hospital straight after. for 2016, first off the collar kai wore didnt work bcz it was supposed to be red like everyone else's and some didnt work at all bcz they sweat so much. when kai threw his off it hit someone hard in the crowd. Chen took off his jacket bcz his pants got ripped. baekhyun had a glowing device on his chest that was supposed to light up when he started perf depicting an artificial heart beating, bringing him back to life bcz everyone else "died" but it also didnt light up bcz of sweat/the wire got ripped while dancing to monster, so that thing then completely fell off him while dancing. also they were totally exhausted bcz they were on tour and had to fly back from North America to hong kong just for this.

these two stages really show off how professional the boys are, no one ever notices anything amiss the first time they watch them kyungsoo injured his foot really badly in the 2013 stage when he got off the table, you can see him trying not to put so much weight on one of his legs when you watch really closely. he ended up not being able to be there when exo received their first daesang. jongdae ripped his pants in the 2016 stage, that's why he tied his coat around his waist before they all took their jackets off during monster :') baekhyun had a really elaborate mechanical heart on his chest that was supposed to light up during his dance solo, but it malfunctioned so he tried to show it by opening his shirt up. If you look closely 56:30 - 56:31 you can see it falling off onto the ground. There's picture on his instagram if you're curious! you can also see him touching his chest throughout monster to make sure it didn't fall off but it didn't work because he said he was perspiring too much.
