I agree that he needs at least a solo mini album (I would totally not be ready tho!) but he's actually using his vocals very well because ad-libs and background vocals usually require more of the vocalist than actually just singing. I remember someone commenting in a video that he said he wanted to focus on background vocals and let the others sing. It's not that SM is not using him properly, is that we are THAT needy lol
