OMG EXO-M WERE AWESOME! T_T This performance is a killer! You can really feel their stage presence! In talent shows I often find the judges mention star quality or the x factor, and whether or not the contestants have it... I never really got what they meant until recently, when I watched a bunch of groups in kpop music shows. Some of them looked like they were trying too hard, or not enough, or their performances overall just made me cringed... This EXO-M performance is an example of star quality. Powerful, captivating, radiant. I couldn't take my eyes off them.

As far as the story in "Overdose," what you need to keep in mind with everything you watch that has to do with EXO is that everything they are involved in is connected and everything they do is designed to tell a little more of EXO's story. EXO's MVs are all like one continues drama or mystery. You will never understand anything about EXO's MVs until you first understand EXO's origin story. As with everything EXO does, you have to keep in mind that the whole concept of the group is that they are supposed to be aliens from Planet Exo and they came to Earth on a mission. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and they have been sent to Earth to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. So in the "Overdose" MV what you are seeing is the fact that the members have been trapped in a maze by the Red Force and they are trying to use their superpowers to escape the maze. The box of sand that D.O. pours out and the beam of light are all part of the members' powers. Baekhyun has the power to control light so he tossed a beam of light to Lay who has the power of healing. Lay is the only one who could have caught that light beam without being injured because he can heal himself. Bakehyun and Lay are each other's counterparts and their powers are connected This is one of the ways they show how the members of EXO-M and EXO-K are connected. So in the "Overdose"MV they are using their powers to try and escape from the maze they are trapped in. In the song they're not overdosing on anything except love. The box that D.O. had at the beginning of the MV was full of dirt. D.O.'s superpower is the power of earth or dirt and it gives him strength so he was using the sand you saw him pour out of the box to build his strength back up so he could try and escape from the maze. They were also trying to use their powers of teleportation, fire, light, etc. But as you saw at the end of this MV, the maze has only one way in and no way out. And I think it represents and mirrors the fact that they are saying they are trapped by love and once you are in there is no way out. As the English lines in this song say: "So bad, no one can stop her ... her love, her love (is)fantasy ... Oh she wants me, Oh she's got me ... Oh she hurts me ... someone call the doctor ... (her love makes me) overdose ... too much of your love makes me overdose ... too much overdose ... Your're in my heart ... with you I can't stop", etc. This song is kind of a love song about how powerful love can be that it feels like no matter how much you try to resist it you keep getting pulled back in like a drug. However, for the storyline in the MV there might be a little more at play than just being drugged by love. Some theories say that the story in "Overdose" is connected to the story in "Lucky One" In "Overdose" the members get trapped in a maze and they can't find their way out. The red light represents the Red Force who have trapped them in the maze. Some say the maze causes the members to get disoriented and sort of become incapacitated so they are unable to defend themselves. The theory speculates that sometime after the end of the "Overdose" MV EXO gets captured or transferred from the maze to the government facility by the Red Force and that is why we see them in a hospital-like setting in "Lucky One." In the story in the "Lucky One" MV the members are drugged and they are being experimented on to discover what makes them so special. In "Lucky One" the members use their powers to break free from the facility. And this is where some theories connect the story in their "Lucky One" MV to the story in "Ko Ko Bop." The theory is that the story in "Ko Ko Bop" is them trying to detox from the drugs they were given in the government facility in "Lucky One" and the blue Ko Ko Bop drink Shuo mixes and the members drink is to counteract the effects of the drugs in their system. That is why they act so out of it and in a drugged state in "Ko Ko Bop." As you can see all of the stories in EXO's MVs are connected. We just have to pay close attention to every detail and put the pieces together. Unfortunately,, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, songs, albums, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all. To help you pinpoint the powers being used in their MVs and live performances here is a list of the members and what their special power is. EXO-K 💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeo) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: did you know that Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO? That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho) 💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light 🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix. 🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt) which gives him strength/force ☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation 🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a lead rapper, lead dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind EXO-M ❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost) 🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything. 🌩 Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity (As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese group) The Chinese members who were all in this MV, but have now left the group: 🐉 Kris was the leader of EXO-M he was a main rapper and vocalist -- his power was the ability to fly and his spirit animal was a dragon 💭 Luhan was a main vocalist and his power was telekinesis (The ability to control things with his mind) ⏰Tao (Ztao) was a lead rapper and vocalist and the martial artist of the group, so he did the flips and stunts in the group's routines. His power was the ability to controlling time

after you watch the guide to kris, luhan and tao, you should definitely check out some of their solo songs! tao recently released new music, and luhan is about to drop a repackaged album, meanwhile kris made a critically acclaimed meme song (it’s deadass called ‘big bowl thick noodle’) sampling a freestyle rap he got clowned by all of china for, and he featured tao and luhan in the video bc he’s a legend.

I'm back with my "watch some Luhan (and Kris and Tao) solo stuff" begging~^.^ Luhan will actually be dropping new music in a few days!!!~~~ Until then, my recommendations for solo Luhan stuff is always (if it's from the channel Luhan Studio, those are best, because that's his channel^.^) - That Good Good (his first official, non-OST solo work he released) - Medals (an OST for a movie he was in & a lot of Lufans consider it one of his best songs) (I recommend watching the original version for the movie so you can see some clips of him acting^.^) - Excited (another that is collectively liked by fans) - Roleplay (one of my favorites and he had a hand in writing the lyrics) (the story version and then dance!~) - On Fire (different, and one of my favorites to turn on full volume^.^) - What If I Said (King of Aesthetics showing why he has that title & a beautiful song) - Skin To Skin (a song in English & another King of Aesthetics mv) I'mma stop there, for now~ Luhan has music videos for almost every one of his songs, until recently(because he's cutting back on his workload), *PLUS* dance practices *and* performance/dance versions for most of his music videos^.^ I *strongly* recommend any of these before listening to Lu, if possible. Inevitably, if a reactors hears Lu first, any time they talk about Luhan after that it becomes the same old jokes about Lu-.-
