because chen is the only stable vocalist for these songs. this song is pretty hard to sing with many high notes and chen is the only one who can sing it without hurting his voice and plus chen got all the hard parts. the only stable vocalists exo has are chen, D.O and Baekhyun. everyone must be at the same level to have an even distributed lines but that is not reality. sm gave them a hard song to sing with many hard parts and only chen, D.O and Baekhyun are stable enough for those songs.

Chen sounds like someone who has trained his whole life and D.O even trained his vocal techniques before he became a trainee. there are some high notes that luhan hit but he is not able to do it without straining. exo had improved but they can't be at chen or D.O or Baekhyuns level only through a little bit of training. even D.O and Baekhyun said that chen is a whole new level compared to them and that is true. Chen has worked hard on his vocal techniques and his hard work has payed off. the only stable vocalist exo has that are stable enough for these these types of songs are D.O, Chen and Baekhyun. this song has many belted notes and that is kind of what chen is known for. Chen is a competent to good vocalist. D.O and baek are above average to competent vocalists. the others are weak vocalist that have underdeveloped vocal registers so there for they are not stable enough for these types of songs.

reading the comments and just imagine how it would've been if Chen was placed in exo-k instead.. tbh i can't. SM's strategy was to put the strongest on exo-m and have 2 other mains on exo-k, but regardless I've always liked exo-m more. i like the group dynamics. i love the vocals, rapper and dance line. i especially loved Tao then (before Xiumin) coz he has a good singing voice, can rap, can dance, and full of swag. i guess it was ambitious of SM to use this as debut song knowing the vocal capabilities of the exom members. and i could just imagine how nervous Chen might've been. singing Mandarin songs in a foreign land with his co members being Chinese (except Xiumin ofc) and the possibility of having ppl judge him because he had most lines. i almost feel bad for him.

Don't be mad at Chen guys. This song isn't easy to sing, it has a lot of high notes. Yes, Xiumin has the highest voice but he doesn't have good control, therefore he couldn't do the parts. In 2013, Luhan did prove that he can hit high notes but maybe his voice just hadn't developed enough in 2012?? I don't know, that's what I think. My point is, it's not Chen 's fault.

XsL Bccdks Luhan has always been a main vocal when he was in EXO. Even though he has already left the group, it’s still irritating to see people spreading lies about him. There’s absolutely no way EXO and EXO-M could’ve been popular in China if S.M. didn’t put at least one Chinese member as main vocal. If you have any doubts, please refresh your memory by listening to EXO songs like Miracle in December, What is Love, Moonlight, Open Arms, etc. where only the four main vocals (Baekhyun, D.O, Chen, Luhan) gets to sing.

The fact how Tao during the Mama era and Wolf era was only cherished for his wushu skills is really sad. He is such a good rapper, he even tops Kris in my opinion plus he has quite decent vocals (just try to listen to some of his solo songs and live performances). Disrespect

I think the line distribution is fair. And I 'm not just talking about technique either. Chen gets the most lines and has to stay in the back of the choreography the entire time except for his solo parts. That may seem like a lot of time, but I guess people forget about that dance break and the chorus and the parts where the other members sing.

I looked at two different websites to see who does the mama rapping parts after Xiumin’s part it’s Kris then Kris does his part he does the mama rapping part twice. I checked the other website it says everyone is doing the mama rapping part I’m not sure which site is the most accurate one but I hope this helps. Also for the high note it’s only Chen doing it and the other website says it’s Chen & Kris.
