Rather than being unfortunate for Kai to be overshadowed vocally, I think the dynamic EXO has as a group allowed him to challenge himself vocally to become even better and constantly improve. Other signers might not have such influence or would have to look for it. It has also allowed him to explore and develop his talent for dancing further because he has such good support. The vocals, too, can build and challenge themselves because they get to rest from the dance during their parts. Exo's biggest luck is that they work together so well and they benefit each other in many ways on the stage filling any gaps.

Talking of stable vocalists, Kai often has lines to sing while carrying out difficult choreography, so much so that the stability of his vocals has often been pointed out. Yes, he's very good. They all are, as you know. I get what you mean, I'm so happy to have found them too. It's been a while, but I still love them intently. They never let us down.

I totally agree with you that it's unfair to the rest of the world that they have arguably the best vocalists in the industry (at least of their generation), the best dancers in the industry (yes, I count Lay too, he's the king of street dance for sure, Kai's king of all genres 🤭), and Chanyeol is actually a true artist in his raps, I mean he paints pictures with the rhythm, cadences etc making it a perfect match to any song, he's by far my favorite rapper in the industry, not trying to overtake the whole song with his rap as in so many groups they do, like a song and its rap part are from different planets. As for Kai's vocals: my erigom heart is singing with joy. Kai IS one of the most stable singers in EXO, just watch "Loveshot live MR removed", and you'll see this man doing practically push ups on the floor and singing like he's standing still. In general, all sub vocalists in EXO reflect the three main vocalists, Kai doubles DO (in vocal warmth and color) and sang his parts a lot when DO was in the military, the same for Xiumin and Suho who double Chen and Baekhyun.

Kai actually covered most of D.O's parts when D.O was in military. Xiumin has covered ex members parts in their old songs. To be honest from main tracks themselves its not easy to give attention to Kai, Xiumin, Suho, Lay and Chanyeol but b-sides actually showcased their singing skills well❤ I just wish Lay, Sehun and Xiumin got equal line distribution cause their voices are really amazing along with their techniques.

Am I the only one that doesnt like it when Exo-Ls use the word ‘stable’ to describe Exo vocals? It’s so basic, Exo is well beyond just being stable, it’s unnecessary to point out, ahahaha. 😂 I expect it from non fans who are surprised by their live performing skills, but as Exo-Ls let’s talk about other vocal qualities. Being stable is a given. 😂 And I understand what you mean about Kai, but this is where I really do think album listens play an important part in appreciating the artist. Purely listening to one album from start to finish with just music or lyric videos will immediately give you an even bigger understanding of the artists’ talents and skills. It shouldn’t be a surprise how good of a vocalist Kai is, just pick any album and have a nice full listen. And I’ve said it many times over… D.O. always switches things up live… it’s not really that oh “he’s feeling himself today” or he’s in a good mood today, because we can say that about all performers - their performances are affected by many factors… granted Exo is the most professional of all Professionals. We often see amazing stages from them and later find out they were going through a lot of bullshit behind the scenes, illness, injury, etc. In D.O.’s case this is his unique charm as an artist - he interprets one song in different ways and chooses to present various facets of himself… so each time feels interesting and unexpected and entertaining and authentic… if you watched the recent One Fanmeeting, especially the Killing Voice segment they do all title tracks youre familiar with… the way D.O. sings is always different from studio version and any other live versions we have already seen online… it is simply amazing

That's what I always want to touch upon. Of course, Suho and Xuimin are known as the vocalists of the group and they are too successful people for me to praise them. As for my dear Kai, he has a truly incredible vocal voice. Just as it gives a sweet atmosphere in the high parts, it is equally sexy in the low tones. Even though his vocals in Exo were slightly less, he made his vocal level more obvious by singing the parts that DO and Xuimin sang when they enlisted in the military. Seriously, God gave him such a voice color that now my baby is in the military. Obviously in the last fanmeeting of Exo, which Kai and Sehun attended, neither DO, Suho, Baekhyun, nor Xuimin had perfect voices, but almost none of them could replace his sweet voice. I seriously missed him.
