I love all of Caesar Oh's guides but I feel like in Kai's guide, many things are missing. His achievements are far greater than just being the idol of idols for other groups or just great main dancer. He had participating in bringing awareness to many social norms especially women's rights. He actually auditioned twice, first as a kid but was asked to come a few years later and he did came back few years later. He also is the member who is always there to provode wisdom to his members even though they're older than him. He likes horror stuff, he's the most emphatic amd emotional member. There's actually many stuff that I can't explain about him.

I feel grateful for being there during Rover Era...cause he really was true to his words when he said that now he just wanted to enjoy the moments, and share a lot with the fans...he always smiled happily despite being really tired because he was doing a lot of festivals and preparing his album too!but he seemed soo happy when he was on stage, that i felt grateful to be able to witness all that...❤

We have to point out that despite Rover being his 3rd solo work, it was the 1st time that he could do the promotion in front of fans cause he debuted during the covid, and Peaches album was at the end of the covid but public was still not authorized at that time!so i think that he was even more hipped to be able to share a lot of interactions with his fans...

Thank you for another fun reaction! -- Congrats on your light stick, Kerry! It's concert time! 😂 -- Kai is not my "bias," but they're all bias wreckers honestly. However, I agree, Kai is the bias of biases. Idol of idols. -- On that note ... the Love Shot bit with the rose is from EXO's legendary 2018 SBS K-pop Awards performance. More seasoned EXO-Ls can tell me if I'm exaggerating when I call it a pivotal moment in K-pop history. Watching that show also was a special moment in my EXO-L development. Having not discovered EXO until after Kai enlisted, I really liked him but had no idea why people always referred to him with such reverence. But when I saw that performance, I got it. Then I learned that he had the other artists backstage in shock and awe. EXO's performance made mainstream news in South Korea for 2 or 3 days. That's the moment Kai became the Idol of Idols. And I realized how epic EXO really was and is. -- He's got a lovely velvety voice that I didn't notice right away, probably because of the main vocalists (and his mesmerizing dancing skills). In a video with him and Chen describing each other, Chen complimented Kai on his artistry and finding the perfect color for his voice. When Chen told him he had a charming and warm voice and Kai pretty much giggles saying "I just got complimented by the best singer in K-pop." It was adorable.

Kai is definitely idol of idols. You mentioned San, and Kai is certainly one of his role models. There's also SF9's Taeyang, who's not only a huge Kai and EXO fan, but EXO-L's have essentially adopted him as "EXO-L President" lol. If there's a new EXO or Kai choreo, Taeyang will almost certainly be one of the first with a cover, probably within 24 hours. Both fandoms actually came together to get them to finally talk, because they were both so shy lol.

Each member of EXO is very special and each has special talents. Every time I look at the group as a whole I think it's a miracle that these idols were carefully put together to form the greatest group of all time. Kai is such a duality isn't he? His stage persona is so captivating, where the real person is cute, introverted and so different.

During his solo in SBS Gayo the one where he was dancing with a rose, a lot of idols talk about it afterwards. Because EXO was the last performer so all idols was gathered at the backstage for the all artist ending stage they were able to watch exo together. They said everyone cheered during Kai's solo. One of Kai's idol friend was at the back, he said he was so proud he wanted to shout "that's my friend!". There's a lot of interviews of different idols praising him for it.

These guides are so good at giving an overall impression and I can say that I have watched many reactors changing their view of Kai after watching this one. He is very much more than his on stage persona. If I remember rightly, only Sehun's guide mentions the charity work these guys do, but they all do. Kai has also spoken out for women's rights and has a well known clip where everyone around him laughs at an mc's joke at a school girl about her weight that he protests about. He is a great role model for many more reasons than his dancing and looks. He is also an intelligent man - his school grades were good. The intelligence shows its head when he is more confident and comfortable. He often shows himself to be empathetic and kind hearted. The name Kai was given to him as the one who was chosen from very early on to be the one who would be the first seen. It was chosen by Lee Soo Man because he felt Jongin was a potential superstar and he was not wrong. Kai first auditioned very young and was told to come back when he was older. He went away and worked on his urban dance skills. At 14, he went back and won the audition, also winning the most popular award, becoming a trainee. Lee Soo Man knew he was going to be big. It seems that the idea for EXO was developed long before the group debuted and that he was waiting for the perfect timing. Personally, I think he saw Kai and Chanyeol as potential members from the start of their traineeships, probably the others too, but these two from very early.

26:10 "promise" is one of the most emotional EXO songs. There is a full story behind this song and it was written after a hard time they went through so he cried while singing (he is not the only member who gets emotional in this song).

i don't know if this is a fact, but when Korean men enlist for military service, their fathers are usually the ones who cut their hair in prepraration for that day. since Kai's dad passed away before he enlisted, the task fell on Suho's lap, thus the video where he was seen giving Kai his buzz cut. Suho, afterall, is EXO's mother/father/guardian. oh, another fun fact: Kai is great with kids. there are quite a number of videos on youtube that show how he is with children.

Thank you, guys, for the reaction! Kai's so precious. The only beef I have with this guide is how it's edited, because after the question about the grades they edited out a whole segment where Kai says that his mom watched his grades carefully as he could have to go to university, nobody promised him to debut as an idol. So Kai actually had to train at SMEnt, study well and dance a lot for the jazz academy. And this guide a bit outdated but there isn't a more recent one. Kai's now released three solo albums and three Films to support each album. Definitely a must watch. Thanks again! ❤

Cesar Oh often had to cut clips carefully or else get copyright strikes. I don't know if that is the reasoning behind the length of this particular clip but they mentioned others that they wanted to be longer but could not do or just had to remove all together. But I do think the point was beautifully made that Kai had a great deal of support from both his parents in their own particular ways. They wanted him to be able to take his shot which he probably would not have been able to do without them (and, as you point out, prepare him for a good life if he didn't debut as an idol. Wise and loving parents xx)

I agree that was unfortunate as many people go away with the impression that his grades were not good, when in fact they were. Watch enough of him and you can see that is true: he can be articulate, insightful and quick witted, as well as thoughtful and understanding.

Thank you for your reaction. ❤ Kai's story is indeed very touching, like his personality. I agree that his vocals are too often overlooked. I also feel this way about Chanyeol. Both of them having very specific, memorable tones. Unfortunately the guide is a little old, but Kai has improved so much in the last few years. I think he also shines a lot in SuperM where we can witness another side of his artistry. The dances performances especially. The concert you mentioned was from Exploration, the last Exo tour back in late 2019. Two members were in the military (DO & Xiumin) though the remaining six still delivered outstanding performances (of Growl, Overdose, Monster, Oasis, Gravity, Bad Dream, Sign, ect). Definitely worth the detour. ^^

This is how incredible EXO is. A person like Kai or Chanyeol who can both sing! but are nevertheless ranked like 6th-ish in the group in terms of vocals. If EXO was a sports team they would have the deepest bench in the league. And that's also why even when they have members away for military service, their songs are still amazing whereas some groups are just crippled by a vital vocalist member being away.

I usually like Ceasar Oh's guides but I think their guides about Kai and Suho are not as meticulous as other members.. I think there are better clips that they could have used to show his personality instead of showing him like he is constantly crying 😂 Even though he cries more easily than most of the members😅 Thanks for your reaction.. There are still many things you haven't seen but you don't need to be overwhelmed because unfortunately, thanks to SM, there are not much variety show type of content of Exo as a group and also we had to learn to be patient for the last 4 years between comebacks and members' military enlistments😅
