I had this on the side of my tortoise table and it was only on 2 days before it started to come off probably due to the heat or whatever the table has been treated with. I havent tried glue because I thought the same thing would happen because of the heat so decided to drill a couple of holes in it and bolt it on to the side of the table. Its now solid. Even though I had this minor problem I would still say its a great product.

I love the idea but the I'm a little worried that once you stick it on it never comes off. I mean what if I have to switch habitats lol

I’ve stuck the sticky part upside down (The tightening screw is at the bottom instead of the top) I tried taking it off but it’s stuck solid to the glass! 😫

Please tell me where I can find the metal piece that is suspending the dome light? I purchased dome lights and a stand and neither came with the metal piece to put on the dome light so it can hang on the stand. I have not even been able to find a name for that piece! Help please!

Kirk and Trish Anderson you can use a wire coat hanger to hang the dome light by bending it the way u want it. I've looked and couldn't fine the hanging brackets.

What is the mounting pole made of ? Plastic or metal ?

As long as it will mount to wood it will work... haven't tested that but a little glue probably would keep it in place if the double sided tape didn't work.

BigApplePetSupply, i'm just curious & a bit nervous. i own this exo terra lamp mount & have an exo terra terrarium i'm using this with for my ball python. but i'm a bit weary as i have carpet in my home & naturally don't want to burn down the house. is there a chance the adhesive could fail AT ALL? should i consider the zoo med stand instead? maybe i'm being too much of a worrier? i figure you might be able to help me with this.....

***** actually I retired them for simple paranoia reasons. I have my baby ball python in a really nice 36X18X18 Wide ExoTerra tank. I keep her in the warmest room in my fairly big house which sadly has carpet. This room is pretty much out of sight and doesn't get visited much except by myself to go see my baby snake. I guess the fear just comes down to if I'm not there to see it, I want as much reassurance as possible so something won't go wrong....I don't think the ExoTerra stands are bad at all, nor do I feel that BigApplePetSupply is endorsing a bad product. In fact they were pretty nifty and glad I got the chance have some experience using them. It's just a case that I needed and wanted something else for my specific situation...

Good question, not sure the adhesive will work as well there but you could probably use a better bonding agent to make sure it will stay in place.
