Not being biased I am an Exo-L for like two months. I been listening to 1D longer and I never liked them much because of their vocals, like I only listened to their song because I liked their lyrics. I like strong vocals and 1D ain't it. And yes I don't understand Korean but I don't understand Spanish too but I still listen to it if the voice of the artist is good. I'm definitely not a 1D hater. I was a directioner for about 2-3 years and I bought lots of their albums.(I just started liking Exo this year) Based off of this video, for me Exo puts way more effort into their music. Notice how 1D will perform one or a couple of songs and easily get tired, while Exo will have choreography along with perfect vocals. Exo trained for many years while 1D simply got put together on the X Factor then started making music. Remember : I'M NOT A 1D HATER

Honestly I used to be a big fan of 1D (I don't really listen to them anymore) so I'm familiar with their vocals. Now that I've really started listening to EXO I'm becoming familiar with their vocals. I used to think that 1D had amazing vocals, but now that I've started listening to kpop, 1D can't compete. Sorry for any 1D fans but they just can't compete. Have you heard EXO harmonize? There is a difference between a good vocalist and a skilled vocalist. 1d are good vocalists, they can sing in tune and have nice voices. But they aren't skilled, they don't have stability, and obviously haven't learned how to properly breath while singing. Exo are skilled vocalists, they have stability and power went they sing. And while you can hear them breathing during live performances it doesn't sound like a pug was breathing into a microphone backstage like 1d. This is coming from a girl with a extremely musically oriented family, one of my uncles is an opera singer, vocal coach, and has a master's in musicology, my aunt taught piano, plays guitar and previously the organ, and sings a little, my other uncle has a band called subterranean howl, my other aunt plays piano and sings, my mom plays violin and viola and sings, and my greatgrandma taught them all to play the piano. And I myself have been in 2 musicals in a lead role. So yeah I'm extremely aware of good musical talent.

Just remember SM is a whole different story than XFactor. SM pushes them to their limits, now I'm not saying 1D sucks because 1D is good, but Exo have to stay skinny, work hard their dancing for months, are scolded if they mess up one thing, don't get treated good in SM but are still in it because they don't want to upset their fans, and because they want to stay with their members and follow their dreams.

Take red velvet joy or Wendy for example, they were big compared to they rest of idols but only choose to lose weight after getting hate from "fans". Try to look at super juniors member, who really doesn't looks like your typical idol with his very big body (*im not hating). Clearly sm didn't force him at all to shed his fat. I am aware of sm and other companies keeping their trainees that haven't debuted yet on diets however, after their debut, sm doesn't keep an eye on their weight. When I said that men are typically fit, I mean to say that they aren't far but rather your average size. Men also tend to burn fat faster so there is no need for them to be on diets. If idols ever lose weight, then it is bec of their tight schedules.

Once you Jimin You can't Jimout Usually when they debut the company (sm) is not that strict, however some mean fans exist and when they lose track on their diets they start to get hate, so idols feel bad and want to please their fans, so they make themselves starve and go on hard diets. It's not fair to compare 1D and EXO because they didn't train the same way. EXO trained much more, Suho for 7 years, but One direction only went at X factor and created a band. Their vocals are great, I bet many people can't do this lmao, but everyone have to recognize that EXO trained more, work more, etc. So it's normal that from this video you get the vibes that they're better. I'm not being biased because I'm an Exol but I'm just stating a fact. I'm not saying 1D isn't talented, I love their voices so much especially Zayn's ❤ Exo worked so damn hard to get where they are today. I saw Directioners saying how 1D had it so difficult because they had to go through the xfactor. Uhm Exo had it difficult as well 😑 Getting accepted into SM is super difficult considering they're one of the top 3 companies in Korea. Trainees have to train years upon years just to perfect their singing, dancing and rapping hoping that they'd debut. Sometimes in the end they might not even debut even though they trained so many years to become an idol. SM Entertainment is known as the home for some of the best vocalists in Korea and well yeah Exo's vocal line is known to be one of the best. I don't care if you think 1D's vocals are better but just don't call Exo 'untalented' BECAUSE ALL MY DAMN BOYS ARE TALENTED ASF! FIGHT ME! In fact all Kpop idols have to go through this. I'm a carat so I can't be biased but exo is better than 1D. Harry and Zayne are competition for exo but once you look at the technical aspects of chen, kyungsoo and baekhyuns singing (I'm not an idiot I'm doing my gr5 in singing this year so i know a little) they've had amazing vocals since debut(mama has some bomb ass high notes) and the way they present themselves while singing is actually quite good (like their postures etc) where Harry's high notes often sound very strained and just like screaming (you can tell by the way he raises his head while singing - that's very straining on you vocal chords) but I think it's unfair that you included past exo members like luhan in this but not zayne because zayne wouldn't have made this such an easy win for exo. Another reason why exo takes this is because you showed really old performances and recent ones where you only showed recent ones from 1D since their vocals were quite shit when they first started tbh.

actually, there is no need to compare them.. 1D's vocals is good, but EXO's vocals is waaay better. for real. their high notes is, like, in the higher level. EXO is better in every single aspects, their cons only the languange, 1D more popular because their languange. But as you can see, eventhough they only have korean & mandarin version albums, they can gain fans from other countries. a lot of international fans love them and their music eventhough we can't understand their languange. imagine how much fans they can get if they have a english version albums I used to like 1D, but now since i noticed EXO... EXO took over 1D's space in my heart.. (now there isn't more space for any group now xD)
