I've got an all metal Kraton 6s. It was a really bad decision. I love the way it soaks up the bumps and feels so solid when running it until it breaks and it seems to break something every time I run it. I finally shined it up, put a new shell on it and sat it on a shelf were it has a permanent home. Yeah, I own a shelf queen basher 🙃

@@Shadows-RC I hear yeah. The Kraton is a very nice truck! I will buy another one someday and leave it all plastic. 😉

too much metal adds too much weight, and metal doesnt bend like plastic does😅

If your ESC has a coast feature you might want to try it to help counteract the drag of the belt drive. That way the nose won't want to dive so much in the air if you don't stay on the throttle. Either that or turn down the speed on the throttle return, if your radio has that feature. Great vids!

What a beast 😱 40lbs 🫢 I’m impressed with the belt drive holding up so well 💪

I think once you get the belt tension correct it'll work fine. My original hope was that the belt would stretch a little bit to sort of loosen things up a bit. When the belts are that tight it's like taking a pinion and forcing it into the spur gear.

I’ve got it back together now. Hope to run again in a few days

I work in a factory where a lot of modern machines have these belts. I have never seen one stretch or fail even with holes punched in the belt from foreign objects.
@JoeOvercoat2 жыл бұрын
@@TABRO284 if that is an industrial quality belt, I don’t think that drivetrain could damage that belt if exo tried. The materials science of those belts is amazing. Even stretching it is unlikely. The belt do age and they do show wear but short of using tin snips I’ve never heard of them failing catastrophically [in modern times]

Gpm has some solid steel +12mm axels. I use them when running arrma tires. But they would do much better for your build then stock.

If that belt drive can hold up to that much power and weight, I'd just say it's good as many others won't weigh as much or be as powerful as yours is. It's AWESOME!!!

Been running av belt drive on my MAX5/1100kv for about 1.5years. Been awesome. The sound is soooo much nicer than gears. But, I luv to try mew things, so I have a Vitavon motor mount + Vitavon 1.5mod gears ready to go in.. Winter season is coming... That means..... PADDLE TIRES :) :) :)

What a beast of a truck! 12s is fun to watch in action. I wonder if that bearing was already about to go before the belt drive installation. At least the belt drive hung in there for what little running you did get in, sure was nice to see it do those backflips. I do believe if you were able to get a few runs in being able to deplete your batteries each time it would have stetched, (broken in) the belt as it usually does. Pure power with that truck.

Hey exo! Off topic from the original video but I’m trying to upgrade the front/rear/center diff on my Losi lasernut u4. I found all the red vitavon diff cases but I can’t find the gears to go in them. Could you help me out or tell me what other rc car has the same size diff gears as the lasernut

The Bolt looks like it would be used in Battle Bots, or other Robotics, Some hardware applications, or automotive. Also that belts have some, very little but it is there, give under heavy loads, it has shock absorbing properties making it quite durable. If you want to up that factor by a lot, add mechanical brakes like a Nitro. Frankly, I am a bit surprised Belts are not used more in larger RCs.

As I say last time I see you putting all metal, metal can be strong, but always a weak will appear without notice, because the weight is so high they will keep breaking until break something of high cost, that why you make that XMax weak instead strong
