The ONE thing I do love about the Spektrum chargers and the their SMART batteries are the automatic discharge function down to storage voltage after how ever many hours you set them for. That's huge in keeping them in tip top shape. Yes they cost more but its worth if you invest in the technology across their lineup. What really makes it nice is the telemtery on the transmitter and esc

A lot of people hate on spektrum smart batteries, but along with what you mentioned, I love that you can check lifetime cycles as well as fault codes. The only downside I've experienced is sometimes the smart board can fail and discharge your lipo to zero. Happened to me once and makes me a little nervous.

Learned a lot. I have the IMARS300 myself. I love that charger. I also switched to all gtech batteries so simple. I also have that charger with the major recall. I stopped using it when I heard about that, but I’ve had it 3-4 years and never had an issue. So I’ll keep it for taking to H&C and use it outside on my generator. Thanks Joe.

I work at a hobby shop and those are all great chargers. The Spektrum shines above the rest with its ability to recover out of balance cells. It will work the cells that are low until it has balanced and then it will take off with a normal charge. Most other chargers will not even start if the cells are off by .3V where the Spektrum will start if the cells are off by 1V. And I have seen more.

Imars d300 can do that as well.

2s racing we charge at 40amps. The problem with that Hitec charger is the balance Current. The balance current is what speeds up the end result and balances the pack faster. You want something with no less than 1Amp balance current. The really good chargers are 1.5 to 2amps balance Current. Hota Chargers are the best for the price. Ichargers are king of the crop the pic of the litter! Also if you get a DC power supply and but your input voltage to 24v you get more out as well. The Meanwell 12v and 24v 1000watt power supplies will get you to max power output

The Hitec RDX2 1000 balance currant is 1.5 amps. Same with the Skyrc T1000. The only thing I do not like about these chargers is when your press start a charge. Takes 1 extra step. You have to arrow up to the top and select start vers holding down start on other chargers to begin. I too race touring car and use the T1000 on AC to charge 2s, 20amps and use a DRC lipo bag heater now to keep it ready for the race.

I absolutely love my imars300. I love the fact that it's smart but I can also change out the lipo connector if I want to. I run xt60s on everything anyways so I never had the need to, but it's still nice to have the option 😂

I've taken quite a liking to the ovonic X1 is a dual with same os as your gensace minus the smart feature. Small and compact great for on the go.

I've got a protek prodigy 625 duo. Thing is a beast. Can dual 4s 7600mah lipos at 16 amps. Each channel can pull that. It's so much ore charger than I need, but it's built so well and so overpowered for what I do, I doubt I'll need a new charger for a long time!

My HOTA D6 Pro has the same interface as the GensACE Imars. I really like how easy it is. I know the big multi Protech one is versatile and powerful but after using the newer ones I hate the 4 button beep beep chargers now

Lol just use caution I'd charge in a fire safe area or a big pot. Hell remember iphone were starting fires while charging 😆 all bats and chargers have the risk, even aa chargers. I know a fella that only charges lipos and such in his fireplace. Can't go wrong there.

Can I charge G2 spektrum lipos with the Gens ace charger? Those lipos does not have the balance cables that is why I am asking
@bbeckers245 ай бұрын
Excellent comparison. The imars was not limited to 6.8 amps with the 6s. You used a 6800 smart battery so the charger defaulted to 1c charge rate ergo 6.8 amps.
@bbeckers245 ай бұрын
At 300w peak it should have been able to hit about 13 amps at the current voltage of your battery.
@bbeckers245 ай бұрын
It's also worth noting the imars is rated at 700watts on DC.

I think for the price, the D300 is my next purchase... we need something that will charge two 4s packs at 1C, when my son got into 8th scales we got a Reedy charger that is 130w per channel...it was kinda spendy... I like that the D300 is small, and should cover all of our needs... I will just need some new leads or adapters for my leads that use bullets.... Cheers

I have the same one that got recalled for 2-3 years, never had a problem. I think the product had problems in the last couple of months of production.

Most likely it was a bad batch that caused the issues.

@redndeyes Couple of years ago, dynamite charger, cheapo batteries, & my service dog was in the garage. I wet to check the mailbox. Top of the driveway, 10 seconds away, I seen smoke. Can't imagine that feeling & don't ever want to again. The next week I got a loan & bought ALL smart chargers & batteries

What are the normal amps you charge your Spektrum batteries on?
@ExocagedRC5 ай бұрын
I usually charge at 1c. Basically a 5200mah battery charges at 5.2amps. If it’s a 300mah battery it’s 3amps.
