What Patrice says about weight categories is very interesting. It make more sense than sex/ages in windsurf/foil

Indeed. We will see if these ideas will have a chance to take root again.

It’s awesome to see windfoiling and Windsurfer LT taking off around the world 🤩🙏👍

It's not always about the next fastest, turniest or jumpiest. Windsurfer LT is appealing cause it peels off the technical complexity of the performance windsurfing but keeping the fun and competitive aspects of it. The default mast is 40% carbon. How windfoiling will develop is yet to be seen.

Windfoil is awesome and for me more rewarding on my homespot. Gusty lake. Jibing is easier to keep planing even in low winds. Good speeds and control is easy to master. Fir example the iqfoil is awesome for freeriders an freeracers. If you wanna go even faster then go for a slalom foil

Windfoiling is another facet of our sport to be enjoyed. It allows us to make the most of our time on the water, even on less-than-ideal days for recreational sailing. Interestingly, Windsurfing LT offers the same advantage. While both activities appeal to different aspects of sailing, they lead to the same outcome: less downtime and more hours on the water to enjoy.

If the Breeze were used as a light wind backup for wave events, would it be reasonable for competitors to transport such long boards to each competition? I could definitely see this for local and amateur events, but less likely for professional events, where the waves might be larger.

You are correct about the amateur event. In fact, maybe we need these local amateur events more than ever: slalom, speed, wave, freestyle and whatnot. As for transportation issues, surfers move their longboards all the time. The same can be said about raceboarders and now Windsurfer LT sailors.
