I have a 2006 Jeep Unlimited and considering an engine swap. Looked at LS, Hemi, and Newcomer Racing engines (stroker I6). Thanks for sharing because now I can consider a Golen I6.

My 4.0 in my 05 LJ has 130k miles on it. Is it to high mileage to just buy a Stroker kit and have someone instal it or would it be more cost efficient to just buy a motor and sell my old one? Nothings wrong with it it just had the rear main seal replaced other than that it’s been a dean.

Great inspiration Bubba because I have a Golan 4.6 sitting in the crate in my shop for my 06 LJ Rubicon. When it gets a little cooler I make the switch.

According to Chad Golan, works with stock computer. They suggest 62mm throttle body (I have) and good gas. Should be plug and play.

All that $ & the computer takes a sh** & makes the trans go in to limp mode

@@juanquintero1866 if ur smart and have it tuned after fully installed ur computer shouldn’t cause a problem lol

The only issue with stroker motors for tj/ljs is the tranny options. There needs to be at least a five speed auto or 8 would be outstanding.
@MeatPez3 ай бұрын
There would be more if the demand that kind of thing wasn’t near zero. Almost everyone wants a manual in their stroker since stroker motors are for off-roading, which means a manual trans is simply the most optimal choice. An automatic option for the few would be nice though.
@MeatPez2 ай бұрын
@shoom-b2h honestly yeah. The only reason a 5 would be even considered better is if you’re running insane power

What is a good swap from a 2.5 TJ? I bought one that I really like and made it nice but now I want to think about axles and engine swap. I was thinking about the R2.8 Cummins. Is there an engine that I would be able to use my transmission with that is not a 4 cyl?

Building my 4.7 to swap out with my 4.0 in 97 Jeep Wrangler. Not really looking to burn rubber as it's a daily driver. I struggled on the freeway with 35" tires and 4.0 until I upgraded the gearing in my 30 & 35 Dana axles. Now I have good acceleration and pedal response but still hits its sweet spot on the freeway at 2,800 rpm @ 70 mph. My question is, will my sweet spot freeway speed bump up once I drop in the 4.7, and what can I expect pulling away from red lights? Not much out there on 4.7 vs 4.0 driving habit once dropped in.
@Exodus4x43 жыл бұрын
Should be better with the 4.7

Could the 4.7 Stroker damage the automatic transmission on a 2001 TJ due to the horsepower and low gears?
