Yeah I don't get how they could be this totally, ridiculously off in how they set it up for PvP. Set up a brand new weapon, put all that work into it, and then make sure it's utterly, absolutely useless in half the game. It needs to be 2 melee blow kill in PvP, period. It also need to be 2 or 3 shots to full energy in PvP if you're gonna make us lead shots...or it needs to have a lot more ammo to begin with so we don't have to agonize every time we want to use it.

The full charge is basically a wave frame gl and as easy to avoid plus they do similar dmg but a gl takes a lot less effort to do compared to the hunter glaive And as a small edit an unpowered melee does more dmg and depending on class/exotic has similar range or lunge

This actually tracks along the ground and goes quite far, so a little better than a wave gl shot, except you have to use all your spawn in ammo and maybe even more to even get to the point of firing

I feel like what they should do with exotic glaives is have a meter that is charged by total hits and consumes 2 rounds when using the unique trait, it would make it way easier instead of only being charged by Glaive successful shots

you should try the one shot setup on the legendary glaives. if you use unstoppable force with another damage boost (inertia override, lumina, emp rift, etc..) you can kill anyone in one shot

@@daedalus1279 ok how about 3 kills in PvP and just 1 in PvE because if you think about it they’re really just worse counter parts of already possible mechanics in-game. Example: Warlock Glaive does a worse job than Rift + boots of the assembler because the glaive’s healing turret is slow, has limited range, and heals you for a big chunk of health rather than the full amount. The Hunter Glaive is just an arc waveframe grenade launcher that has tracking and arc chaining, while trinity ghoul and riskrunner already do a much better job. The Titan Glaive is a small Ward of Dawn bubble with no armor or weapons of light (SirDimetrious’s last video showed him easily getting shutdown by a shotgun while inside one) All in all I think the main problem with these Glaive is that it’s a lot of work and risk for almost no pay off, I just feel like that if we at least reduce the amount of work they’ll be a better choice for use.

I think glaives should have some level of tracking on the projectiles. Not like Jotunn level, but maybe at least like Osteo Striga levels of tracking. That would make them so much more useable in both PVE and PVP, especially in pvp, where they already have a ranged TTK more than 2x that even the worst primary weapon archetypes, and almost 3x that of the best ones. The melee TTK is also the exact same as double punch.

Most other special weapons kill with one shot of special ammo, as long as certain range and accuracy conditions are met. For glaives the condition would be hitting them with the slowest projectile imaginable.

I like how people that have no idea how to use or properly craft these weapons take them into crucible trying to map people with them, refusing to use the block, and then claiming these weapons are garbage. These weapons are meant to thrive in close quarters environments in tandem with other weapons. If you can put impulse amplifier on this thing, do it, and you will have a way easier time. Until bungie buffs the projectile velocity, I don’t see a point in using any other perk. Blocking with the weapon may seem counterintuitive to your goal, but it will fill the bar faster than the energy is consumed if you’re in people’s faces landing projectile hits, perhaps after weakening them with something else.

Honestly I only use the exotic glaives because they have a faster fire rate than the legendary ones. It is faster and hits hard like a double melee, but is three shot when facing high resilience.

Here's how you excel with a glaive: 1. Don't use it. 2. If you have to use it, run a stasis hunter with Renewal Grasp. Every engagement should just be you hurling the stasis grenade on the enemy and immediately smacking the shit out of them while they can't run and can't damage you.

I love glaives… but you probably hate them, for a handful of valid/invalid reasons. I have a suggestion on how to improve their existing functions, while redesigning their exotic variations - in a more viable fashion. I’ll keep it short & sweet. So without further ado; let’s read. _GENERAL GLAIVE CHANGES_ 1. Fix Projectile hit detection 2. Fix Shield activation delay 3. Spawn with 15% shield energy 4. Change the “range” stat into a “velocity” stat ( I’m aware this one would require more time & resources. However; he’d be gifted a more valuable stat - which has a greater impact on the overall feel of this weapon ) 5. Melee attacks deal elemental damage 6. Subclass melee perks now interact with melee hits & final blows ( This one may cause more complications than it’s worth, in which case it’s a take it or leave it ) 7. All damage multiplier weapon perks now interact with melee hits & final blows 8. Scavenger mod now grants 1 additional ammo 9. Increase projectile speed by 7% for legendaries. 15% for exotics. 10. Melee exotic armor now interacts with melee hits & final blows 11. Melee attacks can now be quickly followed up with your glaive projectile attack 12. Projectiles now have 3% slight tracking & curve angles 13. Increase melee lunge distance by 1 meter. 2 meters for the exotics. _EXOTIC GLAIVE CHANGES_ 1. Allow access to their exotic perk through 3 tiers. Each successful tier/shot grants 33%. You may activate the exotic perk at any point between 20% through 100%. Allow for the shields percentage to determine the potency of exotic perk, via damage/defensive/healing. 2. Melee final blows with all exotic glaives refund 1 round into the magazine & generate 11% shield energy. _IMPORTANT TOOL TIPS_ 1. Glaive shield energy reduces 85% of all incoming damage - which stack with other damage reducing perks. 2. Continuously holding your glaives shield energy will last for an upwards of 10.0 seconds - if the shield duration is fully crafted.

To be honest. The only time I’ve found a lot of good synergy is using bottom tree arc hunter, shinobus vow, with the enigma with impulse amplifier and unstopable force. Being able to prime sombody with skip nades then rushing them down with a shot from the enigma allows you to use the blocking function on the glaive and allows you to win most close engagements. I’ve tried it in trials for 2 weeks in a row and went flawless. I pair a high handling 120 or high handling HC with it. Try it out!

Only (viable) build I can think of is Radiant Dance Machines + a Glaive. Rolling around getting melees with two useless pieces of equipment 😂. Glaives really suck. They require two shots to get a kill (basically a 140 RPM shotgun), have projectile travel time so you need to track the shot, lock you out of your ranged melee, and shield energy is only built up on kills w/ the projectile instead of hits or melees. The only viable option with these things are quickswap combos and even then, you'd need to be in Shotgun range to pull it off. Glaives may just need to stick to the PvE sandbox at this point.

Glaives are busted once shield energy is up. There's really not much the enemy can do against a Glaive user that hits his shots, considering you can shield + shoot simultaneously. The only thing holding them back is the insane bugginess of when the shield doesn't work if you're moving fast, and when shots don't register (despite giving you shield) or being given no shield even when you hit your shot. They're buggy, but when they work you are unstoppable.
