The backless bench with slanted sides in the living room (1:42) was made by the Hayden furniture company my great-grandfather Harold Norton ran. My grandmother saw it on a tour, and told us her father took her through the Hayden workshop to pick out a piece of furniture for her wedding, and she asked for that bench, but my great-grandfather told her it had been made & reserved for "some rich family in Michigan". Amazing that she stumbled across it 70 years later!

I remember going there with my class we were told two relatives of the founders were still alive but however quite old and that they lived in other places
