Great job! Is it a hassle to replace the filament when A1 is on top? Stay safe! The multi-color 3D printer opens up so many creative possibilities. Love my P1C, though it does produce some waste and can be slow. Planning to get the flsun T1pro and an UPS for Christmas, both have been really helpful. Thanks, Sam!

For naming, its better to do color than number. so 1-6 is always in the same order, 1 top left, 6 bottom right. then the shelf has a color itself. So Red 4 is red shelf, bottom left. If you run out of the 6-8 easily identifable colours, you then go up to 12 instead of 6 left to right. So 8 is red shelf right shelf, middle top. You'll not find an easier more scalable method of naming and finding, especially for new employees.

I've heard the fumes from the 3d printers can be cancerogenic, is that true? Do you have ventilation setup in that room?
@joshuadelutis71703 ай бұрын
Man, you've got a nice little print farm there. I was watching the segment about your UPS, and I had a thought. There's some old(er) UPSs from APC, something like the SMX1500RM2U, that are meant to go into a server rack, and are much more reliable than those little consumer units. They can be had for cheap on eBay, and refurbished with inexpensive batteries. They measure 19.3inx17inx3.5in, and weight 55lbs! I wonder if they could make dual purpose, as both a UPS and a heavy base to increase the printer's inertia? But, with the size of your farm, and I presume your intention to grow it, have you considered some sort of DC power distribution system, with a DC UPS? You'd probably be able to get much more runtime in a blackout, and it would be more efficient, because there's less voltage conversion going on. Edit: I think the A1's bed is heated by AC, so, never mind... I'm currently at 4 FDMs, and I'm now looking for space to expand, lol Stack 'em 6 high! Love your channel so far, you've got a new sub :D Keep it up

Stack them 6 high for sure. Looks like the farm is steadily growing and that's a good thing. If you don't watch out there'll be a new shop bill in your near future just to house your 3D print farm in LOL. And I think that will be a fantastic topic for a lot of the people wanting to get started in 3D printing and maybe be able to pay off their machine through their endeavors. My print farm is not really a farm it's more like a garden bed, with 1 X1C and 2 A1's. Bambu Labs for the win. 😀

Hey, Sam. I had problems with my cyberpower UPS. It uses a dumb charger and the battery crashes very suddenly. Mine only lasted a couple years and it was toast. I think the cyberpower tends to overcharge the battery a tiny bit all the time. I switched to a UPS with a smart(er) charger built in that exercises the battery and does not overcharge it. Going on 5 years now with no issues. You may want to check the batteries manually every now and then with a load test to make sure they'll be ready and able when you need them.

I did these for heat dissipation with my PLA print jobs. I had issues with quality that ended up being they were too warm inside the enclosures. It's worth mentioning this was also in the summer time here in TN where we regularly had temps in the 90s. I think it would be less of an issue in the cooler months.

How many 3d printers can handle for a UPS 1500VA/900w ?
@Samcraftcom3 ай бұрын
I push the envelope by connecting three A1s to one UPS. If I start three jobs at once, it sets off the alarm when the printers heat up the build plates initially. They've not turned off on me during this time though. I mainly have these for power blips and short outage protections. If I wanted the most extreme runtimes I would have one UPS per printer, but the UPS units are half the cost of a printer, so I choose to run them this way.
