Actually i'd prefer to know how to fight a short arm hook as a long arm toproller 😅 there's this one really buff dude with super short forearms in my club, he's got a crazy good hook, and i cant seem to roll out of it with a standard defensive toproll that you once showed in one of your videos 🤔 do i just have to work more on my pronation and backpressure, or is there something different i could do style wise?

Hey idk you can answer this or not I have a supermatch coming up with a friend in 1 month If both of are wrist is straight and we go side vs side I am like 20%stronger (on gym pulley too) In bicep 5%stronger Pronation 20-25% stronger Backpressure (both lat and hammer curl)30% stronger (We have tested our max in gyms ) Even after this all in a hook vs hook I lose 9outof 10 matches His technique is hook and drag Although i am a toproller but just asking for info

@@ChrisDrummondAW my ques is though being stronger in every aspect i could think of (except cupping) ....and losing easily against the guy with lesser table experience in a hook demotivates me .. What can i do more to get better in a hook(statically training biceps, sidepressure,latdrag, pronation)? Are there any more strength left? Sorry for bad English its my second language
@ChrisDrummondAW10 ай бұрын
@@AbhimanyuAgnivanshi you need more cup. That’s why he’s able to suck you into a hook and beat you there. Cup is the most important or useful strength for the vast majority of armwrestlers.

There's also pronation through the wrist joint no?
@ChrisDrummondAW10 ай бұрын
You’re basically expressing it through the base of your thumb and that’s not meaningfully different than through the wrist joint. You can’t force a guy to hold on to your wrist joint.

@caseydupre537610 ай бұрын
Why doesn’t vitaly exploit rise in the set up like Devon? Is his forearm just too long that it would be a the back of the pad ?
@ChrisDrummondAW10 ай бұрын
That’s a big part of it. But watch Devon set up closely. He’s almost never super vertical with his wrist when getting a grip. He’s elevating his wrist and webbing as much as he can so that when he does kick back and rise he has better leverage. Marcio and Travis are better examples of people who use a lot of rise in the setup. Devon doesn’t do that.

Hey chris, I was planning to put the riser lift on my max effort day, would u add another exercise other than the one u are maxing out(in this case the locked riser)? Or just 1 is already enough?

I wouldn’t generally advise 1rm for riser.

@ChrisDrummondAW got it, what about the static pronation lift in a max day?Sorry if its a stupid question, I'm really lost when choosing a lift for max effort(I identified my weakenesses as backpressure and riser on practice). Master Chris Drummond, first i'd like to thank you for your posting toproll video, watching it so many times has helped me destroy most of guys in my club. Very grateful for that, but lately i've run into a problem" hookers that grab low, like really low they cover the base of my wrist and block my pronation right of the get go, i become powerless, can't even move them, i tried low hand toproll but it's a hit or miss, when they grab low i can't do anything. Is there any counter to this? Pls enlighten me
@ChrisDrummondAW10 ай бұрын
If you can’t toproll them and hooking them doesn’t work, then your choices are to get stronger or keep losing.
@meitwasnt670510 ай бұрын
@@ChrisDrummondAW so my only option is to get stronger against grabbing low hookers? Well then getting back to grinding, thank alot for the response
@jakechia_armwrestling10 ай бұрын
Hi there! Just wanted to share that a good counter to that would be to focus on cupping and driving sideways using more side pressure instead of trying to toproll and open his hand. If you want to attack with backpressure and toproll, another good option would also be to keep your thumb as far away as possible from his so that your opponent has less coverage over the base of your wrist and all the pressure is going towards his fingers. Hope this helps!
