While this set looks awesome as-is, I would have loved to see the proposed version that included the Death Egg Robot and Hard-Boiled Heavies made official (the proposed alternate builds for that one also looked really cool, and I think it had a really good Eggman design as well). Perhaps in a future Death Egg Zone.

The animation in this looks superb! Great job! I have been teaching my 9 year old daughter from my industry experience ever since she expressed an interest in Stop Motion when she was 7. She has come a long way, and still has much to learn, but seeing content like this, keeps her jazzed to keep growing and getting better at what she loves to do.

Tbh I'm surprised Lego isn't making Sonic The Movie sets. It's not only the first videogame movie that was successful in decades and one where they listened to fans; but the first one to get a sequel and a 3rd installment planned. Not to mention SEGA is just as big, if not, bigger than Nintendo atm; what with them releasing past games atm and plans to release more. They even had a hand in movie making before with their japan-exclusive Yakuza Movie; a movie that is completely live-action (but non-canon to the story now).

That massive Robotnik mech would have sold like crazy IMO. I would have bought one for sure. They could have included Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Robotnik and maybe the Wachowskis. Yes it would have needed new molds but if the Sesame Street Ideas set and Winnie the Pooh ideas set can get 5 new molds each, surely that's not a big obstacle.

Just wanted to correct you in saying that the original Mortal Kombat movie had a sequel, which means sonic wasn’t the first VG movie to have a sequel but it’s still one of the first to get a sequel

I actually did give my Robotnik the extra arm articulation but I kept his mustache piece the same because it reminds me of the Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog rendition of him, and I spent my childhood watching that Sonic cartoon. Another thing is I have both the Lego dimensions and the Lego ideas version of the Sonic Minifigure so I have the playable characters of Sonic Generations.

7:27 Personally, Labyrinth Zone has the second place in my favorite Sonic 1 zone, I don't know why, maybe because the zone have a unexplained mysterious past, why does the wall have faces of angry owls-looking and scared owls/pigs-looking ? (I know in the second movie this was explained with the owls) And for the gameplay part, I can't explain why I like it. So, I hope that Lego will do a Labyrinth Zone set, someday.

A Sonic The Hedgehog Lego display has so much potential, man! There is so many ideas (Get it?) that would work great for another one of these. Tails in Mystic Ruins, Knuckles in Mushroom Hill, Shadow in City Escape! I get in a fanboy craze just thinking about it. But I do have high hopes that Lego will make another set for our supersonic blue friend.

I got an idea for future lego sets for Sonic - Sonic 2 - Chemical Plant Zone with Tails & Super Sonic - Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway Zone Amy , Metal Sonic, Eggman and Sonic for Metal Sonic Boss Battle - Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Between Angle Island Zone or Sky Sanctuary Zone If it's Angle Island Zone the minifigures are Sonic, Tails with his Tornado, Knuckles & Eggman or if it's Sky Sanctuary Zone the Minifigures are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Mecha Sonic, Hyper Sonic, Hyper Knuckles & Super Tails - Sonic Mania - Studioapolis Zone The Minifigures are Sonic, Mighty, Ray & Studioapolis Hard Boiled Heavy Boss That's all I got. And Cardboard background for all the sets

I still can't get over how a figure that is clearly supposed to be Classic Sonic has buckles on his shoes. Also, the Lego Dimensions Sonic figure, which is supposed to be Modern Sonic, does not have buckles on his shoes. So if you own both the Lego Dimensions Sonic and the Lego Ideas Sonic, I recommend swapping out their legs for more accuracy on both, as Modern is supposed to have buckles but doesn't, and Classic isn't supposed to have buckles but does.

As a Tails fan, I’d love to see a tornado with tails that has the short legs and a belt peice holding his tails, and the tornado having a sonic mount on top to hold sonic. But even if that won’t come, the possibilities intensify. Death egg? Egg mech? Metal sonic in a set? Chemical plant zone? Emerald hills zone? If lego thinks of making another set, the idea is great.

First off, thank you for calling him by his true original name. (Eat your heart out zoomers). Second, the Ideas submission was supposed to be a Sonic Mania set, which is why it had Heavies in the submission. I honestly think Lego just did the modular pins on the ends so its totally reconfigurable, and not a nod to a future expansion unfortunately. But! That's what Rebrickable is for! There is a fantastic looking Chemical Plant zone expansion on there and I honestly think it looks better than the Ideas Set itself. I hope that if the set sells well that Sega will let Lego make more but with Mario having a license with Lego to make level sets it might be hard to make happen. I think the Sonic set looks far FAR better than the cheesy looking Mario sets tho.
