A very fun video. I like to do this kind of mod, first in digital and then in real life. It works well. I also agree this set was always far too compromised space-wise but you've greatly improved it especially near the stairs. A simple improvement might be to swop each 1x1 tile for a 1x1 modified tile with clip on the vertical wall surface either side of the front door to add a connection point for some sort of different handrail. Cheers!

Thank you! It was a lot of fun to do and very satisfying seeing it come together - I'm sure I'm not finished with it yet so may make an update at some point. Good idea re: the modified tile with clip, that would open up some more possibilities in a small space. Hope you're feeling better soon and looking forward to your next video!

I love your addition to the sanctum, it gives the building that extra thickness I think it really needs while also keeping the alleyway. Please put out instructions and a part list! Your design is IT.😊

Thanks so much! I don’t think I’ll be able to make instructions as such, but I’ll upload the digital file to Rebrickable and possibly also a parts list

Wow, this looks so much better with those changes! I know you did this a long time ago- I just happened to notice your Slytherin Common Room video earlier (which looks amazing btw! I am obsessed with your HP builds- I’ve been subbed for years lol), I’m not sure if you ever put out a parts list or a studio file, but if you did & you happen to see this comment, lmk! I’ve been eyeing this set since it released, and now that it’s supposedly retiring this year, I’m hoping to grab it sometime soon- I think the stairs idea is definitely a good call- I like your entryway much better (both the exterior & interior) and I 100% agree with you on the point that it’s a shame they didn’t do it this way to begin with- I didn’t realize how small it looks from the side until I watched this, and with your 4 stud expansion it truly looks like a proper building- not to mention a little more legroom inside lol. Keep up the incredible work! Your attention to detail & building techniques and ideas are truly inspirational- I hope all is well & you are able to enjoy building in whatever time you get to do so! I always love seeing updates & even just random videos from your channel. Thanks for all of the amazing content, as always!

Hi!! Thanks so much and glad to hear you’re enjoying the HP updates - more to come soon!! I didn’t think anyone was still looking at older videos like this so thanks for commenting - I never did upload a parts list or anything like that for this, but I’ll see what I can do. I wouldn’t be able to do instructions (it would take a looong time) but I’d happily post the studio file on Rebrickable for people to use for free. I did actually sell my Sanctorum a while ago to focus on other themes, but I did enjoy the expansion and think it was an improvement on the original. If I don’t announce that the build it up then please ask me again for it, either here or on Insta

@@dunkandeggbricks yeah I tend to go on random bouts of watching old content from people who I follow who are making their own versions of things or upgrading them- so I spent a good day or so watching your channel this past weekend lol! I’m glad to hear and see you are back at it on here- I understand how “real life” gets pretty annoying & in the way lol.. can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with now! I should have picked up the Sanctum over the past few days w double points but I totally forgot about that lol. Would def love to hear your thoughts on this “current” and upcoming wave- your builds are far superior to the sets being released, however I am quite interested in seeing what they do for the Grand Staircase Tower- I have a feeling I will be unimpressed, but they’ve surprised me before! Thanks again re: parts list! I will bug you in the future if I don’t figure it out or if I don’t see you post it lol.. can’t wait for your upcoming videos! Be well!

Good video, looks loads better. I know the alley isn't quite right but this compromise keeps the portal to the time stone and the door changing feature.
@dunkandeggbricks Жыл бұрын
Thank you - I agree, it isn't quite right but made the mod a whole lot easier and kept the spirit of the original set - just a shame it wasn't like this out of the box!

Very nicely done! Vastly improves the interior spaces!
@dunkandeggbricks Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I love the interior or the original but it was very cramped, still might add details at some point in the future but still better than it was

Great mods bro! Please do a design with the staircase going to the third floor (or second floor😂). Idk if it will be too crowded inside, but I would still be very interested to see what it could look like.
@radoslawzagrodzki Жыл бұрын
Wait, so you said that corner building should reach the edges on each side and you have kept the alley anyway?
@dunkandeggbricks Жыл бұрын
Ideally I would have liked to make it a complete corner, but for simplicity (and cost) I decided to keep compromise and keep the alleyway as is - and it means that the portal function and the chimney (that holds the cloak on the inside) could stay as is

This build is impressive. Are three sets needed to make your moc or are two enough?

Nope just the one plus some extra pieces! I’ll try and upload the digital file to rebrickable which shows the extra parts needed

This is a great mod. Can I ask how much it cost in extra parts? Will instructions be available?
@dunkandeggbricks Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’m not sure of the cost but happy to share the studio file on rebrickable - I’ll post on Instagram when it’s up there, the new parts are a sub model so should be easy to work out what’s needed
